SYNTHESIS OF NOVEL HESPERETIN OXIME ESTERS: A NEW DISCERNMENT IN TO THEIR ANTIOXIDANT POTENTIAL
AbstractA series of novel hesperetin oxime esters (3a-l) were synthesized and there in vitro antioxidant potential was examined. Hesperetin oxime 2 was furnished by oximation of hesperetin then subsequently upon esterification with substituted benzoyl chlorides to obtain hesperetin oxime esters (3a-l) in good yields. The structure of compounds was elucidated by elemental analysis, IR, NMR (1H, 13C) and mass spectral studies. Among, the synthesized derivatives compounds (3i-l) showed pronounced antioxidant activity indeed higher than standard butylated hydroxyl anisole (BHA) and ascorbic acid (AA). Compounds with electronegative groups 3a and 3b demonstrated least activity compared to other analogues.
