FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF TASTE MASKED ORAL DISINTEGRATING TABLET OF LACOSAMIDE
AbstractLacosamide is an antiepileptic bitter drug used to treat partial onset seizure. The aim of the work was to mask the taste of lacosamide and then formulation and evaluation of tablet. Taste was masked using spray dryer. Oral disintegrating tablet was prepared using 3 superdisintegrants Sodium starch glycolate, Crosscarmellose sodium and Polyplasdone XL10. Out of these polyplasdone showed quick disintegration. The 32 factorial experimental design was applied to optimize response variable disintegration time and drug release. Tablet from optimized batch (F9) disintegrate within 27 seconds with 99.38% drug release.
