SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF SUMATRIPTAN SUCCINATE AND NAPROXEN SODIUM BY REVERSE PHASE HPLC IN BULK AND PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORM
AbstractThis investigation describes a new precise, sensitive and accurate RP-HPLC method for the Simultaneous estimation of Sumatriptan succinate and Naproxen Sodium in Bulk and Tablets. The resolution of two drugs was achieved on XTerra C18 (150mm x 4.6mm i.d., 3.5mm particle size) column with UV detection at 284nm and the mobile phase consists of Buffer and Acetonitrile (25:75 v/v). Using chromatographic conditions described Sumatriptan succinate and Naproxen Sodium were well resolved with mean retention times of 2.622 and 4.070 min, respectively. Linear response (r>0.999) was observed over the range of 30-70µg/ml for Sumatriptan succinate and 20-60µg/ml for Naproxen Sodium. The lower limit of quantification and lower limit of detection was 10.02 and 3.0 for Sumatriptan succinate and 10.05 and 2.99 for Naproxen Sodium. The Validation parameters were performed according to the ICH guidelines and the proposed method can be useful in the routine analysis for the determination of Sumatriptan succinate and Naproxen Sodium in Pharmaceutical dosage forms.
