NEW SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR ESTIMATION OF TOLTERODINE IN BULK AND PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION
AbstractSimple, fast and economic spectrophotometric methods were developed for determination of Tolterodine in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage forms using water as the solvent. The quantitative determination of the drug was carried out using the zero order derivative measured at 281.5 nm, first order derivative measured at 274 nm and area under curve was measured in wavelength range of 276-286 nm. Calibration graphs constructed were linear in the concentration range 30-180 μg.mL-1 with r² = 0.9998, r² = 0.9998 and r = 0.9997 for zero order, first order derivative and area under curve method respectively. All the proposed methods have been extensively validated as per ICH guidelines. There was no significant difference between the performance of the proposed methods regarding the mean values and standard deviations.
