SYNTHESIS & ANTI- MICROBIAL EVALUATION OF N-(2-(4-SUBSTITUTED PHENYL)-4-OXOTHIAZOLIDIN-3-YL) ISONICOTINAMIDE DERIVATIVES
AbstractA new series N-(2-(4-substituted Phenyl)-4-oxothiazolidin-3-yl)isonicotin- amide of derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of Schiff base (isoniazid and substituted benzaldehyde) with mercaptoacetic acid. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by means of IR, 1H-NMR. The synthesized compounds showed good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
