SYNTHESIS OF NOVEL 1, 5-DIHYDROBENZOTHIAZEPINE DERIVATIVES BY CONVENTIONAL AND MICROWAVE IRRADIATION METHODS AND THEIR PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES
Abstract1, 5-Dihydrobenzothiazepines are synthesized by conventional and microwave assisted synthesis methods. By microwave assisted synthesis, a considerable increase in the reaction rate has been observed and that too, with better yields. The compounds have been screened for antimicrobial and cytotoxic activity. 1, 5-Dihydrobenzothiazepines are prepared by the reaction of 1, 3-diarylprop-2-enones with o-aminothiophenol. All the products were tested for purity by tlc and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectral studies.
