FLAVONE AND FLAVONE GLYCOSIDE FROM CICHORIUM INTYBUS LINN
AbstractCichorium intybus Linn (Compositae) contains UV-absorbing metabolites. Studies on methanol extract of Cichorium intybus Linn by means of HPLC-UV, NMR, HPLC-MS resulted in isolation and identification of three previously unknown flavones glycosides: 5, 6, 7, 3′, 4′, 7′-hexahydroxy flavones-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), 3, 5, 7 – trihydroxy-3′,4′-dimethoxy-flavone-7-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-xylopyranosyl-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (2), 3, 5, 7-trihydroxy-6, 4′-dimethoxy flavones (3) also isolated were three known flavones, luteolin (4), ladanetin (5) and spicoside (6).
