ROLE OF DEMINERALIZED FREEZE-DRIED BONE ALLOGRAFT AROUND IMMEDIATE IMPLANTS IN EXTRACTION SOCKETS – A REVIEW
AbstractImplant insertion in a “fresh extraction socket” is reliable and effective. Often little discrepancy is there between the size of the implant and the wall of the socket, which needs to be filled before placing the implant. Hence, there is a need for graft material to fill this space. The main objective of this article is to review the role of “demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft” (DFDBA) in bone formation around immediate implants and how it affects the hard and soft tissues. Also, this review assessed the role of DFDBA on osseointegration associated with immediate implants.
