Background: Cardiometabolic syndromes are the co-occurrence of metabolic abnormalities such as obesity, insulin resistance, atherogenic dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Cardiometabolic disorders includes type2 diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular diseases. The prevalence of cardiometabolic disorders are growing in epidemic proportions all over the world; hence cardiometabolic disorders are a major health problem in developing as well as in developed countries. It has been observed in the previously reported clinical studies that deficiency of vitamin D is a highly prevalent risk factor in the patients with cardiometabolic disorders and it has been suggested that deficiency of vitamin D has a crucial role in the pathogenesis of cardiometabolic disorders. Aim: To reveal the role of vitamin D deficiency in cardiometabolic disorders and the opportunity of vitamin D supplementation as vital therapy in cardiometabolic disorders. Methods: We performed a systematic review based on available literature of vitamin D deficiency in cardiometabolic disorders using PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Willey online library databases up to November 2020. Conclusion: Vitamin D deficiency has a...

Chronotherapeutic systems are meant for the treatment of most of the diseases that occurred and found till date, which are proved to be in association with the biological/circadian rhythms of our body with respect to disease symptoms and their severity. Such diseases use this treatment as it involves in-vivo drug availability with distinctive release patterns so as to match the rhythms of disease and achieve optimized therapeutic outcomes with minimized side effects. The specific time at which patients take their medications is taken into consideration as it is the main reason for the treatment success. There is a synchronization of pharmacodynamics and pharmacologic activity of drugs with that of the biological clock, so variations in disease state and plasma drug concentration are taken into consideration during the development of this drug delivery system. Various novel technologies are employed in developing Chronotherapeutic devices and dosage forms, some are available in the market already, and many others are yet to arrive. The main objective of this review is to explore the...

Micro sponges are patented polymeric drug delivery systems consisting of porous microspheres. The physical appearance of microsponges is tiny spherical sponge-like with the surface with large spores. Micro sponges are typically used and nowadays used as the oral dosage form. The inert and indestructible tiny spherical particles do not pass through the skin. But, it collects in the tiny nooks and crannies of skin. Thus slowly release the drug for a prolonged period. It prevents the excess accumulation of drugs within the epidermis and dermis. They have a modified drug release pattern with lesser side effects. Micro sponges are biologically safe and provide a selective advantage of programmable drug release. Micro sponges Drug Delivery System provides entrapment of ingredients because of its porous nature and is believed to contribute lesser side effects, improve drug stability, increase elegance, and enhance formulation flexibility. One of the best features of microsponges is their self- sterilizing property. Several studies have confirmed that Micro sponges are non-mutagenic, non-allergic, non-irritant, and non-toxic. This review focused...

Infertility is an inability to achieve pregnancy in spite of regular, unprotected coitus in one year. Infertility affects about 15% of couples, in which the malefactor contributes to 40% worldwide. There are various risk factors, causes, and treatment modalities for male infertility, of which Selective Estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) are one of the promising treatments available for treating idiopathic male Infertility. Idiopathic male Infertility refers to an abnormality in semen parameters without an identifiable cause and diagnosis recently known. SERMs are structurally diverse non-steroidal compounds which bind to estrogen receptor (ER) to exert tissue-specific estrogen agonist and antagonist effects. Several compounds, including clomiphene, tamoxifen, toremifene are currently available synthetic SERMs of which clomiphene & tamoxifen are commonly used in treating idiopathic male Infertility. While these compounds are effective in treating male infertility, their long-term use increases the risk of stroke, cataract, vision-threatening ocular toxicity, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and even more. The aim of this review is to highlight the causes, diagnosis & management of male fertility and...

Objective of this article is to review three techniques, routinely used rapid diagnostic tests (lateral flow immune chromatography) versus nucleic acid amplification test (NAT) versus Paper-based microfluidics for DNA diagnostics of Malaria, as diagnostic tests in detecting malarial infection among febrile illnesses, suspected of malaria. The major constraint for implementing NAT as a routine screening technique in India appears to be its high cost per test. There is a need to evaluate the technique and its cost-effectiveness as compared to RDT in the Indian setting as there is a scarcity of literature in this...
