Flax (Linum usitatissimum) is an annual herb with a huge source of essential fatty acids, amino acids, vitamin E, organic acids, and cyanogenetic glycosides. Flax is primarily observed with antioxidative and cell rejuvenating properties. Due to the major ups and downs of lifestyle, metabolic syndrome is the most common terminology associated with humans. Metabolic syndrome is amplified by unhealthy food consumption, less physical activity, alcohol consumption, smoking, etc. Heart attack, hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, cancer, in-vitro fertility and other hormonal or neuronal problems are the medusa’s snakes of metabolic syndrome. The constantly changing environment, pollution, bad air quality index, greater amount of carbon footprints, and exhaustion of greenhouse gases are the sources of maladies associated with environmental breakdown. Environmental calamities like consumption of non-renewable fossil fuel, pollutions, melting of the ice age are collectively flowed towards metabolic syndrome. After prolonging intake of Flax (seed or oil) it was observed with greater impacts on mitigation of Diabetes mellitus, occurrence of inflammation, ulcer, atherosclerotic plaque, and maintained the normal levels of hormones...

Recurrent aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is a painful ulcerous condition that was conservatively treated using topical corticosteroids, immuno-suppressants, thalidomide with some potential risks and reactions. Considering this, herbal extracts are found to be a better alternative with very minimum side effects. Punica granatum (pomegranate) extract is one such flavonoid-containing food supplement with excellent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties used in preventing and treating RAS. The aim of the study is to assess the efficacy of Punica granatum extract in treating RAS. Materials And Method: Systematic review of randomized, clinical studies were searched using Pubmed, Scopus, Cochrane, Medline, Science direct, Lilacs, and Grey Literature. Research articles were collected using both electronic and manual search methods with a final record of nineteen. Several articles were scrutinized, redundant information was discarded, and based on the study pattern, interventions, outcomes, eight records were taken for consideration. Results: Four studies were refined in the systematic review with randomized, clinical studies meeting all criteria. These three were statistically significant and the other did not clearly state...

Epilepsy is a disorder of episodic brain dysfunction characterized by recurrent unprovoked spontaneous seizures. Epilepsy is the second most common neurological disorder after stroke. Antiepileptic drug discovery in animal models starts with the assumption that the experimental seizure model mimics human seizure. The identification of potential therapeutic agents for the treatment of epilepsy requires the use of seizure models. Animal models for seizures and epilepsy have played a fundamental role in advancing our understanding of basic mechanisms underlying ictogenesis and epileptogenesis and have been instrumental in the discovery and preclinical development of novel antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). Most animal models cannot mimic all the pathophysiological, behavioural, electrophysiological, and neurochemical alterations of the spontaneous human epileptic syndrome. Therefore, while a selected few are used for routine screening of anticonvulsant compounds, some help in understanding mechanisms underlying epileptogenesis. In the case of antiepileptic drug development, once a compound appears promising, a battery of tests is carried out to characterize the clinical profile and possible mechanisms of action. A model for epilepsy is...

Cubosomes are very stable nanoparticles, which consist of cavernous or honeycombed structures. Cubosomes are formed from some amphiphilic lipids and stabilized by a polymer. They are known as bicontinuous cubic phase liquid crystals. The bicontinuous word refers to the two continuous but non-intersecting aqueous regions by a lipid bilayer. Cubosomes are self-assembled liquid crystalline particles of a specific ratio of water and surfactant. Self-assembled cubosomes act like an active drug delivery system. They are having rheology like a solid. Cubosomes are thermodynamically stable, and their dispersions are biocompatible as well as bio-adhesive. Cubosomes are administrable in various ways, like parenteral, oral, mucosal, transdermal, etc., for the treatment of skin, hair, or any other body tissues. Cubosomes could encapsulate the amphiphilic, hydrophilic, and also hydrophobic substances. Nevertheless, some researchers have been identifying the scope of cubosomes as delivery systems. They have different drug loading modalities and having high internal surface areas. Controlled release and targeting of bioactive agents are other abilities of cubosomes. They are also applicable as membrane bioreactors,...

The ubiquitous compound 4-Hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, also known as ferulic acid, constitute. A bioactive ingredient of many food that may offer a potential therapeutic effects useful in the treatment of cancer, diabetes, lung and cardiovascular disease. It is also effective against the disorders relative to oxidative stress, including certain neurodegenerative diseases. Ferulic acid is widely distributed in plants in either free or conjugated forms. Overall the pharmaceutical potential of ferulic acid can be attributed to its ability in scavenging free radicals. In recent years, it is also known to inhibit HNG-CoA reductase and activate glucokinase, thus contributing to the reduction of hypercholesterolemia and hyperglycemia. This review discusses the different properties of ferulic acid, establishing a relationship to several biological activities. FA is also used in a substantial amount in the food and cosmetic industries. So also, in recent years, it has been used as a cross-linking agent to manufacture edible food films. The review also discusses compound distribution, metabolism, and physiological role uses in the production of...
