Numerous disorders are caused by inflammation, and recent epidemics have prompted public health concerns. The fact that there are so many anti-inflammatory medications available doesn’t change the fact that they frequently don’t work because they pose a severe risk of gastrointestinal toxicity with both acute and chronic use, hematologic toxicity with acute use, and nephrotoxicity with chronic use. Curcumin’s clinical value was, however, constrained by its low absorption. Therefore, it is crucial to find new anti-inflammatory medications, and natural products are a great place to start. One such natural substance, curcumin, is a promising therapeutic candidate because of its stability, solubility, and low toxicity. Research has indicated its inhibitory effect on prostaglandin E2 and COX-2 protein formation, as well as on phorbol ester- and CD-induced COX-2 mRNA expression and PGE2 synthesis, among other things. The mechanisms either entail inhibiting cyclooxygenases (COX) and other inflammatory enzymes. This study covers the current state of knowledge with an emphasis on the anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin and their potential molecular...

Since ancient times, plants have been used for medicinal purposes for their various therapeutic potentials and safest to modern allopathic medicines. Regularly phytochemicals are proving to be modern medicine with novel drug delivery systems by treating different diseases and disorders. Phytochemical compounds need improvement of efficacy and patient’s compatibility to deliver in various diseases, e.g., high blood pressure, microbial, coronary heart disease, cancers, diabetes, inflammation, etc., also require a rational approach. Nanotechnology is a promising drug delivery approach for targeted or site-specific phytoconstituent delivery. Especially, Nanogels are the most rational approach for targeting skin diseases and enhancing bioavailability. Phytoconstituents or plant extract-loaded nanogels have been reported in in-vitro and in-vivo activities for different skin disorders like aging, acne, skin infection, etc. Nanogels, as a novel drug delivery system, may reduce toxicity and improve the bioavailability of the incorporated drug. The present review is focused on various phytomedicines that have been used in treating skin aging and acne, nanogel formulations prepared, and the effectiveness of both phytochemicals and nanotechnology for...

Background: Warfarin is an anticoagulant widely used to prevent thromboembolic events (TEs) in patients with various cardiovascular (CV) diseases. Pharmacogenomics (PGx)-guided testing is a growing method suggested to help predict warfarin dosing. A systematic review was performed to compare the incidence of thromboembolic events (TEs), bleeding events (BEs), time in therapeutic range (TTR), the proportion of time to therapeutic range (PTTR) and warfarin dose adjustments between PGx-guided warfarin therapy and standard of care (SOC) in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (Afib), pulmonary embolism (PE), and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Methods: Two reviewers independently searched MEDLINE, CINAHL, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library and clinicaltrials.gov databases from October 2019-August2022 to identify studies. Abstracts were reviewed for outcomes of interest and patient demographics to identify patients present with International Normalized Ratio (INR) readings, TTR, PTTR, BEs and TEs. Results: From the database search, 28 articles were retrieved based on abstract screening. A total of 6 articles were ultimately selected for the systematic review. All articles found favor in the PGx-guided group...

Depression is accepted as a condition of misery and is treated as a disorder that includes mental and emotional disorders. Depression is a deadly disease that affects about 5% of the general population. In addition, depression is a heavy burden on patients and families. Furthermore, many epidemiological studies have shown that the occurrence of depressive disorders in the general population is increasing at an alarming rate. Depression is the most common form of emotional disorder, from a very mild condition to severe depression associated with hallucinations and delusions. In addition, altered levels of serotonin and other biogenic amines have also been shown to contribute to neuromodulatory disturbance in the etiology of depression. According to monoamine theory in depressive disorder, patients with major depression have shown biochemical symptoms which may change monoamine neurotransmitters, specifically nor-epinephrine and serotonin. Clinical data suggested that dopamine is also involved in the pathophysiology and treatment of...

Cosmetic products are produced by the most inventive and technically driven methods to reach more consumers in the developing world. Cosmetic products are also regulated, similar to pharmaceutical products. BRICS countries are emerging markets with a partial regulatory system similar to well-regulated countries. BRICS countries have a registration or notification process for cosmetics based on their classification. A systematic review was carried out. We searched the databases and reviewed assessment agency websites, among other sources. Qualitative studies, official regulations, and systematic reviews aimed to identify a general framework of regulatory activity in BRICS were included. A critical analysis is made of all the aspects that may be useful for any public body that intends to register cosmetics in any of the BRICS countries. BRICS nations are organized to promote, stabilize and consistently regulate cosmetic products among them. The cosmetic regulatory system, registration process, and procedures of South Africa are at their last position, as Russia precedes South Africa. Cosmetic products are very well regulated and the registration process is...
