Phytochemical screening and antioxidant activities with different solvents extracts of Diospyros ebenum were investigated. The phytochemical screening of this study indicated the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, coumarins, flavonoids, glycosides, phenols, proteins, saponins, steroids, tannins, and terpenoids. The methanolic extract of D. ebenum was significantly higher phenolic content when compared to hexane and diethyl ether extracts. In order to effectiveness (IC50) of the plant extracts the potent inhibitors of methanolic extract followed the methods (H2O2, RPA and TBA). This showed that Diospyros ebenum with different solvents extracts especially the methanolic extract may be a potent source of extraction of natural antioxidant and its use in the management of disease associated with oxidative stress was...

A marine sea-grass Cymodocaea serrulata was collected, dried and extracted with a different solvent. The presences of phytochemical constituents were confirmed and the ethyl acetate extraction was considered to be a suitable solvent. In addition, the crude seagrass was serially diluted and spread onto the Zobell Marine Agar plates. Among the eight colonies obtained, the red-pigmented bacterium (CS8) which was identified as Bacillus cereus (MG890216.1) through 16S rRNA was selected for further studies. Subsequently, the secondary metabolites from seagrass and its bacterial pellet of ethyl acetate extract were detected through Mass Spectroscopic analysis. On comparison of MS spectrum of the seagrass phenolic derivatives such as p-Coumaric acid (163Da), syringic acid (197Da), 3, 4, 5-trimethoxy benzoic acid (213Da), Oleuropine derivative (334Da) and 1-acetoxy pinoresinol (415Da) were found to be major compound. GC-MS revealed the major unknown compound as Androst-5-En-3.Beta.-Ol, 4; 4-Dimethyl-and Acetate which is a steroidal unsaturated carboxylate had not been reported from any sources so far and along with seven other known compounds in the bacterial pellet. In addition...

Background and Objectives: Current research suggests several advantages of the adjunctive use of lasers in periodontal therapy. The aim of this study was to assess and evaluate the comparative therapeutic effects of laser-assisted and conventional open flap debridement procedures. Materials and Methods: 30 sites in 15 patients (9 males and 6 females), age range (25-50 yrs) with chronic periodontitis having probing depth ≥5 mm after phase I therapy were randomly assigned to test group (laser-assisted flap debridement) & control group (conventional open flap debridement) in a split-mouth design. Clinical and microbial parameters were analyzed at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months. In addition, Soft tissue healing was also assessed using the healing index at 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months & 6 months. Results: The change in clinical parameters in the test and control groups was not statistically significant at the various time intervals (p˂0.05). However, the microbiological analysis showed a significant reduction in the CFU counts of periodontal pathogens in the test sites when compared to...

The facts like developing resistance in bacterial pathogens against conventional antibiotics, emergence of new infectious agents etc. have been leading the scientists to tedious research activities to find out antimicrobial drugs with novel modes of action. Among the multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial species that pose threat to human life, the IDSA has identified a group pathogens known as ESKAPE pathogens which show extensive drug resistance through a wide range of mechanisms. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been identified as very effective and to avoid the chemical contamination in preparation of them, green synthesis is being used. In the present study, AgNPs using Picrorhiza kurroa Royle ex Benth were synthesized using reduction method. The green synthesized AgNPs were characterized by UV–Vis, DLS-zeta potential and FESEM analysis. Anti-ESKAPE activity of the synthesized nanoparticles was also performed. FESEM studies revealed that the nanoparticles were spherical and nanosize in shape. The UV–Vis spectral studies confirmed the surface plasmon resonance of green-synthesized silver nanoparticles. The particle size was found to be 267 nm and the stability...

Active Pharmaceutical ingredient (API) of pharmaceutical bulk drug Brompheniramine Maleate (API) was validation by gas chromatography. Aim for this article was to check the Residual Solvents in Brompheniramine Maleate (API) by Gas Chromatographic technique. To validate a Gas Chromatographic method for detection and Quantification of Residual Solvents Methanol, Isopropyl Alcohol, DMSO and -O-Xylene. This technique was developed accurately, and validation parameters such as Accuracy, Specificity, Precision, Linearity and Range, Limit of detection (LOD), Limit of quantitation (LOQ), ruggedness, robustness and system suitability testing are explained. Gas chromatograph equipped with FID detector and headspace injection and column 30 m × 0.32 mm ID × 1.8 µm DB-624 capillary column with column temperature was 40 °C (hold 10 min) to 250 °C @ 40 °C/min, hold at 250 °C for 5 mins. Specificity was retention time for Methanol (2.13), Isopropyl Alcohol (3.45), DMSO (13.90), and -O-Xylene (13.74). The recovery for Methanol % RSD was 2.49, Isopropyl alcohol 1.18, and O-Xylene 1.91. All validation parameters are used in the routine and stability...
