The serotonin syndrome is a life-threatening adverse drug reaction caused by a significant increase in the concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) in the central nervous system. The aim of this study was to establish the effects of olanzapine, an antipsychotic drug, on the hyperthermic response in rat experimental serotonin syndrome. In this study, we used an animal model of the serotonin syndrome induced by co-administration of fluoxetine and tranylcypromine. The body temperature of the animals was measured with thermistor probes (TX-8) inserted rectally and monitored on multichannel recorder. Pre-treatment with olanzapine inhibits hyper-thermic reaction in an experimental model of the serotonin syndrome and converts a hyperthermic response to serotonergic combination (fluoxetine and tranylcypromine) into a hypothermic response. Our results suggest prevention of the hyperthermia in a serotonin syndrome model with the use of olanzapine and support the hypothesis that the hyperthermic reaction in serotonin syndrome is mediated by activation of central 5-HT2...

A series of pyrazole derivatives designing for potential EGFR kinase inhibitors have been discovered. Some of them exhibited significant EGFR inhibitory activity. Compound 3-(4-Amino-phenyl)-5-(3-nitro-phenyl)-4, 5-dihydro-pyrazole-1-carbothioic acid amide (AP-2) displayed the most potent EGFR inhibitory activity. The QSAR analysis of a set of these compounds tested for growth inhibitory activity against EGFR were performed by using the computer-assisted multiple regression procedure. The activity contributions for substituent effects of these compounds were determined from the correlation equation for predictions of the lead optimization. QSAR analysis of these compounds was performed by multiple regression analysis in order to predict the lead optimization for anticancer activity against...

As humanity is progressing, many new borne infections are borne, and the stability and efficiency of the human body are being tested. Today the World is fighting with a deadly Novel infection named Corona Virus Disease. The aim of this systematic review is to find out the efficacy of Nutritional Interventions against the infections caused in the body due to pathogens. Further, the recommendations can be made for further researches based on the evidence collected. To collect the data, electronic databases such as Scopus, Pub Med, NCBI, and web of science have been used. The peer-reviewed journals and newspaper reports are being cited with the English language. The papers were published from 1989 to 2020. Finally, a total of twelve studies were identified, and the pathways of all nutrient metabolisms are included in the study. The studies were mostly carried out in Asian and European countries on human as well as animals. All the studies except one supported the role of Nutrients in preventing and curing the infection caused...

Benzimidazole, a fused heterocyclic moiety containing benzene and imidazole, has gained considerable attention in the field of medicinal chemistry due to its wide array of pharmacological activities. Be it as a antifungal, anticancer agent, proton pump inhibitors, anthelmintic, anti-microbial, analgesic, it has become an intrinsic part of the pharmaceutical world. The presence of Nitrogen in its heterocyclic ring has made it a more biologically active pharmaceutical agent. The fact that benzimidazole residue is a constituent of vitamin B12 supports its potential use in therapeutics. Benzimidazole derivatives are the structural isosters of naturally occurring nucleotides such as purine, allow them to interact effectively with the biopolymers of the living system such as proteins, enzymes, and receptors. Benzimidazoles exhibit significant activity as a potential anti-tumour agent, smooth muscle cell proliferation inhibitors, a treatment for intestinal cystitis, and in a diverse area of medicinal chemistry. The synthesis of novel benzimidazole derivatives remains as the main focus of medicinal research. This current review covers the chemistry and significance of benzimidazole and its derivatives,...

This case-control study had undertaken to evaluate effect of Allium sativum in normal rats. In this study ethanol extract of Allium sativum had macerated with aqueous gum acacia (2%, w/v) suspension and fed orally (500 mg/kg b w p. o.) to male adult normal rats of charles foster strain for 15 days. Results of this study showing that alcoholic extracts caused no any significant reduction in blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, phos-pholipids, free fatty acid, lipid peroxide and no significant increased in post heparin lipolytic activity, but on the other hand as per pre-existing data and my published studies in diabetic patients and diabetic experimental animals showed that extracts exert all above effects significantly. That’s why it is very clear here if a healthy person will take natural products, it never causes hypoglycemia, hypolipidemia, and under the weight. Natural products also not cause any significant change in hepatospecific parameters. Thus, from this study, we conclude that natural products are safe, non-toxic, and free from side effects, in comparison to...
