Male infertility has remained a complex multi-factorial disease and needs advanced molecular studies. The development of effective diagnostic capabilities has resulted in the desire to create minimally invasive tests to help in the understanding of the etiology of male infertility. In recent times, research on human sperm proteomics has gained momentum and provides detailed information regarding spermatozoa’s functional state. Sperm proteome changes are seen in many male infertility cases linked conditions. A Revolution in omics and the availability of advanced proteomic tools have increased the knowledge and understanding of the causes of male infertility. Proteomic tools and techniques including liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy and MALDI-TOF are employed in sperm proteins profiling towards identifying the molecular pathways that are defective in infertile men. Proteomic information empowers better comprehension of sperm biochemistry and provides data that aids in improving reproductive outcomes in infertility patients. Therefore, this review explores the proteomic concepts and techniques for spermatozoa proteome analysis. It also examines the proteomic approaches, including the role of sperm proteomic data, in...

The present work deals with the development and validation of a novel, robust, precise, and accurate UV-spectrophotometric method for the estimation of canagliflozin in bulk and formulation using the principle of Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD). A central composite design (CCD) was employed for initial parameter screening and method optimization. Different statistical parameters were evaluated to decide the appropriateness of experimental data. Canagliflozin shows an absorption maximum at 290 nm using methanol and water. Factor screening slit width and sampling interval were identified as critical method variables, which were further evaluated by a CCD. Design Expert (Version 12.0.6.0, Stat-Ease Inc., Minneapolis, MN USA) software was used for the method optimization and generation of design space Good linearity was obtained for canagliflozin in the range of 5-25 μg/mL with R2> 0.9989. The method was found to be accurate with good average % recovery. The developed method was validated as per ICH guidelines. Based on AQbD development of the Spectrophotometric method ensured that quality is built into the method. The method...

Background: In the field of pediatrics, a number of herbo-metallic preparations are available which tend to enhance immunity in children. Various Ayurveda texts have mentioned these preparations, especially gold formulations like Swarna Prashan, Suvarnabindu, Suvarna Vacha, Kumarabharana Rasa etc. in children, and many clinical studies have also been published to establish their safety and efficacy. Material and Method: Subject-related published research articles from various journals were searched online through PubMed, Google Scholar and data of the articles were analyzed by following PICOS format to confirm their safety and efficacy in the paediatric population. Results: Total 7 clinical studies showing safety and efficacy of Ayurvedic herbo-metallic preparations in paediatric disorders such as Chronic tonsillitis, Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI) and healthy children were treated with significant effect in their diseased condition and reducing the frequency of recurrent infections. No any adverse or toxic effect of any of these formulations was noticed. Conclusion: Gold preparations are found quite safe to use in pediatric disorders with proper dose and vehicle as well...

Medicinal plants are a reservoir of biologically active compounds with therapeutic properties, and in that context, Opuntia ficus indica and other Opuntia species are of immense importance because of their nutraceutical and pharmaceutical values along with their anti-inflammatory effects, hypoglycemic, anti-hyperlipidemic effects, anti-atherogenic and anti-spermatogenic potential. The cactus Opuntia is a xerophytic plant grown in more than thirty countries, including Mexico, South America, South Africa and India. All parts of the plant, including pear, roots, cladodes, seeds and juice, have these pharmacological properties, which have been attributed to the presence of high content of phenolic acids, flavonoids such as quercetin, kaempferol, anthocyanin and ascorbate etc., and pigments such as carotenoids, betalains, tannins etc. Other reported phytochemical components such as biopeptides, phytoalbumins, minerals such as vitamin B1, B2, B3 and Vitamin C, soluble fibers also add to the medicinal properties of Opuntia spp. presence of these bioactive has made Opuntia a high potential plant that can be investigated for commercial production and consumption as a neutraceutical. The present review provides...

This study was designed to evaluate the phytochemical findings for the presence of Alkaloids, Flavonoids, Phenols, and Terpenoids, and the phytochemical profile of chloroform and ethanol extracts of Panicum trypheron were analyzed using GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) method. The leaves were dried, powdered, and soaked in chloroform and ethanol, then subjected to GC-MS analysis by using Clarus 680 Gas chromatography. The unknown spectrum was compared with that of the known by using NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) database, which revealed the presence of different chemical entities in each of the extracts. The compounds are pharmacologically and biologically noteworthy. The extracts showed good antibacterial activity when tested against selected bacterial strains. This preliminary study gives an overview of the plant, which contains bioactive compounds and is therefore proposed as a pharmaceutically important...
