Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir Combination have been approved for the treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C Viral Infection. Here an accurate, valid, elementary, and error-free reverse-phase liquid chromatography strategy was developed for the quantitation of Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir in its bulk form as well as in fixed dosage form. Effective chromatographic separation of Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir was achieved by using Kromasil C-18 (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 µm) column using Phosphate buffer (pH 3.5) and Methanol in the proportion of 45:55 v/v. The Mobile phase was siphoned at a flow rate of 1.0 mL min-1 with a column temperature of 35 ºC, and detection wavelength was carried out at 259 nm. The retention time was found to be 3.294 min for Sofosbuvir and 4.630 min for Ledipasvir. The dimensionality of Sofosbuvir and Ledipasvir was in linear range with a parametric static of 0.999 and 0.999. Background and Objectives: Acne vulgaris is a chronic skin infection affecting the majority of teenagers and adolescents. It is a disease that affects almost 80% of individuals. Acne, by definition, is multi-factorial chronic inflammatory disease of the Pilosebaceous unit. Nowadays, herbal formulations are gaining popularity in the treatment of various diseases. By considering this fact, the present study was undertaken to prove the potential of Amalaki Capsule in the treatment of Acne. Methods: 24 patients were equally divided into two groups. One group (Trial group) was given two Amalaki capsule (each containing 250mg standardized extract) twice daily after meal for 60 days, while the other 12 patients (Control group) received two capsules of maize starch powder twice a day after meal for 60 days. Results: All 24 patients completed the treatment undertaken. No drop-out was observed. Background: To evaluate the various adverse drug reactions with different cancer chemotherapy regimens, severity, causality assessment and preventability. Methods: This cross-sectional, observational study was carried out in the oncology department at a tertiary care teaching hospital over a period of one year. Data on Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) of anticancer drugs were collected of cancer patients diagnosed by a concerned clinician from the oncology department. These ADRs were assessed for causality using Naranjo’s probability scale. The severity and preventability of the reported reactions were assessed using the modified Hartwig and Siegel scale and modified Schumock and Thornton scale, respectively. Data were analyzed using Descriptive Statistics and Microsoft Excel. Results: Out of 683 ADRs recorded from 198 patients, m/c ADRs were alopecia (21.08%), n/v (17.27%) & nail pigmentation (11.56%), etc. Taxanes, Platinum compounds, Nitrogen mustards, Antibiotics, and Antimetabolites were the most common group of drugs causing ADRs. Ophthalmologists generally treat ocular infections by giving prophylactic anti-microbial therapy as they do not have data from culture analysis. The indiscriminate use of anti-microbials can lead to drug resistance, difficulty in treating infections, and increased chances of severe ocular damage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the utilization of anti-microbial drugs in the ophthalmology department at a tertiary care hospital. This is an observational study conducted in a tertiary care hospital. Details of total 740 prescriptions were collected from out-patient records and analyzed. The total 740 prescriptions, 56.4% were males, and 43.6% were females. The highest number of patients was in the age group of 61-70 years. Post-operative cataract cases were in maximum (51.9%) followed by conjunctivitis (15.3%). A total of 846 anti-microbial drugs were analyzed from 740 prescriptions. Average number of anti-microbials per prescription was 1.15. Eye drops were the most commonly prescribed dosage formulation. The main objective of the present study was to develop and evaluate the simvastatin noisome using different grades of nonionic surfactants. It was hypothesized that niosomes would increase in vitro release of simvastatin in comparison to the API Mumbai. Niosome were prepared by thin-film hydration method and evaluated for particle size, entrapment efficiency, PDI, and in vitro release. The different niosomes shows various mean particle size, but Span 60 containing Niosomes have higher particle size than Span 80. Both optimized formulations of Span 60 and Span 80 have particle size 225.40 and 261.4. The PDI, entrapment efficiency of these optimized formulations was found to be 0.153, 0.167 and 85.72 ± 2.10, 81.44 ± 3.83, respectively. Niosomes prolonged the release of Simvastatin and provided a sustained release pattern.
