This article presents a logical technique to select the best method for the preparation of nanocrystals by implementing the analytic network process. One of the most significant decision-making tools to make excellent decisions is Analytic Network Process which includes Model construction, Paired assessments between each two clusters or node, Super matrix assessment based on outcomes from paired comparisons, and result investigation for the evaluation. So in order to avoid wrong conclusions, we use the Analytic Network Process tool because it is well organized and logical compared to other decision-making techniques. Based on the results of the overall priority analysis, the alternative M2 Sonoprecipitation method scores 0.088857, which is highest when compared to other alternatives. This study reveals that the Sonoprecipitation method is the most appropriate technique for the preparation of Nanocrystals. This paper concludes that ANP evolved by Saaty is a good decision-making device, done by using a software super decision which is very easy to make the right decision and conclusion. With the outcome of ANP method and...

Aim of the study: To evaluate analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of cetirizine and levocetirizine in different experimental models in rats. Materials and Methods: Analgesic activity of cetirizine and levocetirizine was assessed in tail flick model in rats (n = 6), where it was compared with aspirin and tramadol. Reaction time in seconds was used as the unit for measurement of pain and an increase in reaction time was indicative of analgesia. Anti-inflammatory activity of cetirizine and levocetirizine was evaluated using carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema model for acute inflammation (n=6). Percentage inhibition of oedema was compared in different groups. Formalin-induced arthritis model in rats (n=6) was used to evaluate activity in chronic inflammation, where it was compared with aspirin. Linear cross-section (LCS) immediately below the ankle joint of right hind paw was measured daily with Vernier Calliper. The difference in LCS on day 1 and day 10 was calculated for all groups. Results: Both cetirizine and levocetirizine were found to have significant analgesic action which was comparable to aspirin in...

The aim of this study was to synthesize the graft copolymer of starch to obtain materials that profit from the particular properties of both natural and synthetic polymeric material. Thus in the present work, a graft copolymer of methyl acrylate and potato starch has been synthesized under microwave irradiation using K2S2O8-TU redox pair, which generates free radical sites on the starch backbone where grafting will occur. MA was chosen as a co-monomer because of its known biocompatibility and non-toxic behavior together with ease of polymerization. Starch was modified through graft copolymerization of poly (methyl acrylate) under microwave irradiation using K2S2O8-TU redox pair. Different parameters were optimized to have a maximum yield of 390%. The effect of PMA grafting onto starch in respect of structural, mechanical, and other properties of grafted starch was investigated by FTIR, TGA, DSC, and SEM analysis. These copolymers could be used as biodegradable fillers and packaging material in the plastic industry. The graft copolymers, therefore, can help increase bioavailability. Due to the biodegradability of starch,...

Background: Wound infection occurs when one or more organisms invade the wound. Nosocomial infections are the most common hospital acquired infections responsible for mortality and morbidity. Multidrug resistance against bacterial strains is the most serious emerging situation in worldwide, warranting the search for other alternatives. In this regard Pentabark kashaya was developed which contains ingredients possessing antimicrobial, anti inflammatory, and wound healing activity. Materials and Methods: Antibacterial activity of Pentabarkkashaya (PK) was determined against three predominant bacterial strains one gram positive and two gram negative strain Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The sensitivity of the organisms were tested by both the agar well method and broth dilution method (MIC) and it was compared with the antibacterial activity of provide iodine solution 5%. Result: Pentabark kashaya showed antibacterial activity against all the test pathogens in both agar well and broth dilution method. The highest antimicrobial activity was observed against Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in agar well diffusion method showed the inhibitory zone of 14 mm in both...

Common chicory (Cichorium intybus L.) plant belonging to sunflower family primarily grown for its root which is used as a coffee substitute but is also widely used in folk medicine to treat various ailments ranging from wounds to diabetes. The plant is a good tonic cooling agent and is useful in headache, throat inflammation, immune stimulation, mutagenic, probiotic, hepatoprotective, antibacterial activity etc., and these actions are attributed to a wide range of phytoconstituents present in this plant. In the existing study, the total flavonoid and phenol content of methanolic extract of selected parts (leaves, root, and seeds) of Cichorium intybus L.was quantitatively estimated using aluminium chloride colorimetric method (as quercetin equivalent) and Folin-Ciocalteu method (as caffeic acid equivalent) respectively. The total phenolic contents varied from 1.94± 0.895 to 1.66± 0.506 mg/gdw. Total flavonoid contents were between 1.60± 1.69 to 1.37 ± 0.796...
