The main objective of the present research work was to formulate and characterize the linagliptin-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs). SLNs possess distinctive characteristics like small and spherical shapes with an average diameter between 1to 100 nm. Linagliptin is used for the treatment of type II diabetes and it is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4-inhibitor and its oral bioavailability is 30%. The application of biopharmaceutical principles to the physicochemical properties of drug substance are characterized with the goal of designing best drug delivery system. The current research work was to enhance the oral bioavailability of linagliptin using the different phospholipids like stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, cholesterol along with the surfactants like tween 80, span 80, poloxamer1 88, and span 20 by solvent emulsification/solvent evaporation method and solvent emulsification method in order to obtain the best novelty formulation. The prepared formulations have been evaluated for particle size analysis, zeta potential, percentage drug entrapment efficiency, scanning electron microscopy studies, in-vitro drug release kinetics, and stability studies. FT-IR spectra showed the there was no...

Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory condition of the skin and musculoskeletal system with cutaneous psoriasis that leads to joint deformity and disability and is commonly seen in 40-50-year-old population. Clinically, TNF-α inhibitors and JAK inhibitors form the main line of treatment of this rare disorder. A systematic review was conducted via an electronic search of Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, Wiley, Embase, and Cochrane databases till May 2020 using the following keywords: “Psoriatic arthritis”, “Atrophic arthritis”, “Rheumatoid arthritis”. Published literature that explores the therapeutic methods of treating CSOM are included along with data of randomized control trials (RCTs), in-vivo studies and ELISA assays are collated in this review. 43 qualitative studies from 6 databases are included in this systematic review. Of these, 40 studies depict the efficacy of chemically synthesized, nature-derived, monoclonal antibody and recombinant DNA compounds (TNF-α inhibitors, T-cell suppressors, inhibitors of MAP kinase, and JAK) and 3 studies depict the benefits of alternative agents (ZSTK474, gold sodium thiomalate nanoparticles and whole body cryotherapy) in PsA. A critical...

Background: Management of hypertension in hemodialysis patients was never the same in all and tends to involve a various classes of drugs with respect to their disease conditions, response to drug therapy, medication adherence, and many more. Atenolol and Olmesartan can be used as add-on therapy in managing hypertension with calcium channel blockers. Methodology: Blood pressure was monitored using Continous Ambulatory Blood pressure monitoring for 24 h and patients with blood pressure above 160 mm Hg and who are free from Atenolol or Olmesartan were included in the study. They were given with Atenolol or Olmesartan as an add-on drug to the existing other class of antihypertensive drugs. After a period of 2 weeks, their 24 h ambulatory blood pressure was measured again. A comparative data of both the blood pressure data was established. Results: The overall 24 hours ambulatory systolic blood pressure dropped from 179.32 ± 10.823 to 168.36 ± 13.991, and overall diastolic pressure dropped from 90.72 ± 13.743 to 81.32 ± 12.750. Similarly, the mean heart...

Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), a class of green and neoteric solvents, have attracted increasing interest over recent years as environmentally benign excellent alternatives to organic solvents in homogeneous and biphasic processes synthesis of several nanoparticles. A novel magnetically recoverable ionic liquid (1,1–Bis(3-Methylimidazolium-1-yl)methanechloride)-stabilized ferrous sulfide (FeS NPs) was fabricated by almost all the known a simple reduction method. Firm ferrous sulfide nanoparticles were prepared in good capitulate by reduction of ferric chloride using sodium borohydride by different reagents like thioacetamide (TAA) and sodium thiosulfate in the presence of ionic liquid such as 1,1-Bis(3-Methylimidazolium-1-yl) methane chloride. In the present investigation, FeS nanoparticles through different starting materials were synthesized and its characteristics were compared with each other. Structures were confirmed by elemental and spectral studies such as FT-IR spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis, Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)...

In the present study, Justicia adhatoda was used for synthesizing AgNPs and characterized using UV-visible, FTIR, XRD, and SEM analysis and checked for its teratogenic effect and bactericidal activity. UV–Vis spectra analysis revealed that the synthesized AgNPs had a peak around 434 nm, while XRD and SEM analysis showed that AgNPs have spherical shapes with sizes ranging from 22 to 29 nm. Fourier transmission infrared (FTIR) analysis authorized the presence of bio interactive hydroxyl, amide, and carbonyl groups playing an important reduction role in the process of nano-synthesis. The acute developmental toxicity of Justicia adhatoda leaf extracts with nanosynthesised AgNPs on the embryos of the zebrafish, Danio rerio, revealed that the mortality, hatchability, heartbeat rate, teratogenicity, and embryogenicity were all concentration-dependent. The lethal effects were prominent in biosynthesized AgNPs, whereas sub-lethal and teratogenic effects like lordosis, scoliosis, pericardial edema, yolk sac edema, head malformation, tail malformation, and growth retardation were expressed in 79% of the embryos. Pericardial edema and Tail malformation were the most prevalent in higher concentrations signifying...
