India may have a potential in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. Pharmaceuticals are difficult to register with the CIS region’s regulating organisation because of the turmoil among these countries. The CIS includes Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, and Georgia. These call for various regulatory standards for drug registration. Based on the FDA’s recommendations, it will be problematic to have various policies in the same area- activity of exporters and producers; registration of the same product in various nations; work of manufacturers and exporters. The same documents cannot be used to implement CIS due to the lack of regulatory harmonisation. Manufacturers and exporters must submit various country-specific documents to reach these markets since these nations adhere to a country-specific document format. Both Ukraine and Kazakhstan have enacted stringent regulations and are awaiting United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) – level document certification. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is regarded as a “growing industry both in terms of trade agreements and drug...

In the past years many drug discoveries were investigated to be poorly soluble in aqueous medium. These poorly aqueous soluble drugs include Econazole Nitrate (ECZN) having high permeability. ECZN is an effective, potent anti-fungal drug used to cure large range of fungus. Oral administration of ECZN causes gastrointestinal irritation. To overcome or avoid the “first pass metabolism” and to optimise the drug concentration at the infected site of action topical gel was formulated, topical gels have better tendency to convey the drug via skin as compared to ointment, because gels are non-greasy and comfortable for application. To improve the solubility of ECZN in aqueous medium, Co-crystal technique was established to be a boon to the pharmaceutical industry. Crystalline structure of co-crystals consists of ECZN and Co-former either amino-acid or carboxylic-acid in equimolar ratio and penetration-enhancer was used. Liquid based grinding method used for fabrication of co-crystals. Formulated Co-crystal was incorporated in Carbomer-934 based topical gel. Characteristic peak was determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, the large number of particle size was...

Stem cell-based therapeutics have considerable potential to treat a variety of illnesses that are now incurable. Because of recent scientific advancements, the area of applied medical research has taken a positive turn, and stem cell-based techniques have moved considerably closer to clinical applications. Since their discovery, stem cells have revolutionized medical research and dramatically altered our understanding of human biology. Understanding of the evolution of the human body and how it fixes itself after harm has been greatly increased. This is why the use of stem cells in human applications has expanded dramatically. This has boosted interest in stem cell therapy. With a genuine interest in long-term quality research into critical problems, some of which are described below, it will be intriguing to deliver therapies based on stem cells to patients with terminal diseases and impairments in order to assist them significantly enhance their quality of life. Stem cell treatments have emerged as a promising and advanced area in scientific study in recent years. This advancement has increased the bar...

Chrysanthemum morifolium is commonly known as chrysanthemum. It has been widely used in traditional medicine due to its various therapeutic effects. Past studies have shown that chrysanthemum extracts possess significant anticancer activity against breast, prostate, and colon cancer cells. The active compounds in chrysanthemum extracts such as flavonoids, sesquiterpenes, and triterpenoids have been found to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells, inhibit cell proliferation thus prevent cancer cell migration and invasion. Furthermore, chrysanthemum extracts have also been reported to enhance the efficacy of conventional chemotherapy and reduce its side effects. Based on the previous studies the present research has been aimed to determine the anticancer activity of petals of Chrysanthemum morifolium against Hep G2 liver cancer cells by evaluating the cytotoxic potential by MTT assay ((3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5- diphenyltetrazolium bromide) tetrazolium reduction assay), the study of apoptosis mechanism and cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry to understand the cell cycle changes in liver cancer cells when compared with Doxorubicin. The results obtained have demonstrated a prominent anticancer activity of...

Isolation of plant-based pesticides gaining recent interest due to the clastogenic implications of synthetic insecticides. The polyphenolic-rich fraction from the stem bark of Streblus asper was proven as an insecticide against Dysdercus cingulatus. This study aims to evaluate the genotoxicity of polyphenolic bioinsecticide from Streblus asper (PBSA) using the mouse bone marrow micronucleus assay and compare its effect with malathion, an organophosphorus insecticide, and vepacide, a neem-based bioinsecticide. The micronucleus assay was conducted after 24 and 48 hours after the second administration of the pesticides (two doses by i.p. injection for two consecutive days). Swiss albino mice were divided into six groups, each comprising six animals. The first group received dimethyl sulphoxide (Group I – DMSO control), the second group (Group II – positive control) received 100mg cyclophosphamide/ Kg body weight, Group III received 276mg (LD10) malathion/ Kg body weight and Group IV received 1000mg (LD10) vepacide/ Kg body weight. Group V and VI received 500 and 1000mg polyphenolic-rich fraction (PBSA)/ Kg body weight respectively. A significantly higher frequency...
