A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW: STUDY ON SCIENTIFIC VALIDATION OF AYURVEDIC MARKETED FORMULATIONS
AbstractOne of the earliest traditional medical systems, Ayurveda, has become well-known around the world for its extensive use of herbal formulations and holistic treatment approach. Concerns about quality, safety, effectiveness, repeatability, and standardisation continue to be significant obstacles despite the growing commercialisation of Ayurvedic goods. Therefore, in order to prove the legitimacy of commercialised Ayurvedic medicines in contemporary healthcare systems, scientific validation has become crucial. Pharmacognostic evaluation, phytochemical screening, chromatographic profiling, physicochemical analysis, toxicity assessment, pharmacological investigations, and clinical validation are among the methods now employed in the scientific validation of Ayurvedic formulations that are included in this study. The paper also emphasises quality control methods, contemporary analytical techniques, regulatory frameworks, and difficulties in standardising polyherbal formulations. Integration of traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern scientific methodologies is necessary to ensure safety, efficacy, consistency, and global acceptance of Ayurvedic medicines.
