IN VITRO ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF VARIOUS EXTRACTS OF LEAF AND BARK OF HOLOPTELIA INTEGRIFOLIA PLANCH
AbstractThe different extracts of leaf and bark of the plant Holoptelia integrifolia were investigated for in-vitro anti-inflammatory activity by human red blood cell membrane stabilization (HRBC) method. The HRBC membrane stabilization activity of the petroleum ether extract of leaf at the concentration of 200 mg/ml showed 68.12+/-1.05 % and petroleum ether extract of bark at the concentration of 200 mg/ml showed 71.25+/-1.72 %. Inhibition of denaturation in hypotonic solution with standard Diclofenac sodium 100 mg/ml showed 79.25%. Therefore, these extracts showed equipotent activity to Diclofenac sodium
