ROLE OF OMICS IN DRUG DISCOVERY FROM NATURAL SOURCES
AbstractThe healing homes of plant life have been identified because time was immemorial. Many pathological conditions have been handled using plant-derived drug treatments. Recent advances in analytical and computational strategies have opened new avenues to technique complex natural merchandise and to use their structures to derive new and revolutionary drugs. Indeed, we’re in the era of omics as applied to herbal products. Predictive computational software programs have contributed to the invention of molecular targets for natural products. The rapid adoption of omics procedures to research facts using genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics has opened a new manner toward natural drug discovery. The records of omics, the technology utilized in omics gear, role of omics in natural drug discovery, its strengths and challenges of omics equipment are discussed in this review.
