SYNTHESIS AND ANTICONVULSANT ACTIVITY OF SOME NOVEL SEMICARBAZONE DERIVATIVES CONTAINING QUINOXALINE MOIETY
AbstractVarious 1-(substituted benzylidene)-5-(3-hydroxyquinoxaline-2-yl) carbonohydrazide were synthesized starting from orthophenylenediamine. Structures of all the compounds were confirmed on the basis of spectral analyses. All the newly synthesized compounds were screened for anticonvulsant activity. Some of the compounds showed significant anticonvulsant activity with no neurotoxicity.
