SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERISATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF SOME NEW CHALCONES
AbstractIn this work, an attempt was made to synthesize new chalcones by Claisen – Schmidt condensation of substituted benzaldehydes with 4-aminoacetanilide in the presence of base catalyst. The synthesized chalcone derivatives was characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR and also tested for their antimicrobial activity and compared with the standard drugs.
