Metal (II) complexes of Co, Ni and Cu with Schiff base derived from 2, 4-Dihydroxy-5-acetylacetophenone and Aminothiophenol (DAAAP) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, IH NMR, electronic spectra, thermal analysis, magnetic susceptibility and conductometric measurements. On the basis of these studies, a six coordinated octahedral geometry has been proposed for all the complexes. The Schiff base and its complexes were tested for biological activity against various types of Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis ATTC 6051 and S. pyogones ATTC 12600) and Gram – negative bacteria (Escherichia coli ATTC 11775 and Proteus vulgaris ATTC 13315) and Fusarium solani Martius and Aspergillus niger Fungus. It has been found that metal complexes are found to have sensitivity for inhibition of Gram‐positive more than Gram‐negative bacteria. Glycosyl isothiocyanates have been widely used as important intermediates in the synthesis of many biologically active glycosyl derivatives. The glycosyl isothiocyanates have been the focus of synthetic attention during recent years because of their potential pharmacological properties. Thiourea and their derivatives are important versatile reagent in organic synthesis and show strong antibacterial activity. Hence, in view of applications of N-glycosylated compounds in medicinal chemistry and in many other ways, we herein report the synthesis and antimicrobial studies of novel glycosyl thiocarbamides of amino tetrazole and aminopyrimidine. In present investigation, a series of novel protected glycosyl heterocycles were synthesized by reaction of glycosyl isothiocyanate with amino tetrazole and amino pyrimidine. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of IR, 1HNMR and Mass spectral studies. Antimicrobial evaluation of the synthesized substituted thiocarbamides is also carried out. Syzygium cumini L. belongs to the family Myrtaceae is one of the widely used medicinal plants in the treatment of various diseases particularly diabetes. The present study has been focused on the synthesis of silver nanoparticles of leaf, seed and fruit extracts of S. cumini and to observe their antimicrobial activity. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by performing UV-Vis spectrophotometer, SEM and TEM. UV visible spectroscopic analysis revealed the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), the final reaction product confirming the reduction of AgNO3 to silver nanoparticles. Spherical, triangular and cubical images are observed in SEM analysis of silver nanoparticles prepared from leaf, seed and fruit extracts of Syzygium cumini. TEM analysis also revealed the formation of 5 to 20 sizes of silver nanoparticles with the presence of the layer around the particle. Subsequently tested antimicrobial activity of silver nanoparticles prepared from leaf, seed and fruit extracts of Syzygium cumini. 2-Anilino-3-formylchromones are obtained in high yield by rearrangement of differently substituted C-(4-oxo-4H[1]-benzopyran-3-yl)-N-phenylnitrones. These compounds undergo various facile nucleophilic substitution reactions leading to the synthesis of various pharmacologically active chromone based novel heterocyclic systems like sulphonamides. The C-2 and C-3 are the main positions in the chromone moiety for the attack of nucleophiles and electrophiles, respectively. The chromone system behaves as Micheal acceptor. Generally, the nucleophilic attack at C-2 is accompanied by ring transformation. Protonation and alkylation occur on the oxygen of chromone moiety. In the present study, the substituted 3-Formylchromones were synthesized by Vilsmeyer haack Reaction. These substituted 3-Formylchromones were then reacted with phenyl hydroxyl amine in dry benzene to obtain substituted 2-Anilino-3-formylchromones which were further reacted with various substituted sulphonamides in dry alcohol to furnish final derivatives, i.e. chromone based sulphonamide derivatives (8a-h). The worldwide usage of medicinal plants have been rapidly improved due to their medicinal property. Endophytic microorganisms are recognized as a potential source of novel chemical molecules that might be useful in the treatment of various diseases. In the present study, the plant samples were collected from Muthathi Wild Life Sanctuary, Mandya. The purpose of this study was to isolate the endophytic bacteria and their antibacterial activity against few human pathogens. Isolation of endophytic bacteria was carried out on nutrient agar media. About 41 bacterial endophytes were obtained from 17 medicinal plants in the study area.
