The local tribes have used Phyllanthus virgatus for Malnutrition, Contagious infections, Inflammations (Gond Tribe), Hepatitis, Cold, Stomach-ache, Gonorrhoea, Fever, Headache, and septic ailments (Chenchus and Yanadis), etc. The gold nanoparticles have a highly specific surface area, and their unique physiochemical characteristics include catalytic activities, optimal properties, antimicrobial activity, etc. Aqueous leaf extract of Phyllanthus virgatus is used to synthesize gold Nanoparticles. The confirmation of biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles was characterized using UV Spectrophotometer, with the maximum scale observed at 551nm. SEM and EDX characterized the morphology of Gold Nanoparticles used to detect the presence of the element gold. The synthesized Nanoparticles were observed to be roughly spherical with a range of 2-50 µm. The dynamic light technique measured the hydrodynamic diameter (28.7nm) and a Zeta potential (-18.6mV). The FTIR analogue shows that the functional group assigned as=C-H, C-C, O-H, –C=C- and –C=O capping agents. The synthesized nanoparticles have shown strong inhibitory action against pathogenic microbial Strains using the Disc diffusion method. Bacillus cereus exhibited more significant results than other...

Introduction: Flap surgeries can be followed by some complications due to the infection of the operating site. Sutures at the operating site can predispose to surgical site infections by harbouring the microorganisms due to their wicking action. Triclosan-coated antibacterial sutures can be used an effective substitute to traditional sutures due to its ability to reduce biofilm. Aim: This trial evaluates clinically and microbiologically the effectiveness of antibacterial coated sutures compared to non-coated ones. Materials and Methods: 20 sites in 10 systemically well patients were diagnosed with Stage III Periodontitis [2017 AAP Classification] and was allotted into group A and group B randomly in a split-mouth design for the research. Flap surgery was performed, and in Group A, triclosan-coated polyglycolic acid braided sutures were placed and in Group B non-coated polyglycolic acid braided sutures were placed. In both the groups, Visible Plaque Index (VPI) and total microbial colony count on the suture were assessed on the suture removal day. Healing Index (HI) was assessed on the 8th day and day...

More attention on natural antimicrobials and antioxidants have increased. The medicinal plants production has high in Mediterranean region. WHO says many drugs can be obtained by using medicinal plants. Medicinal plants have many compounds of bioactive that gives more metabolic action on the human body. The congestive heart failure treatment and cardiac arrhythmia treatment can be treated by glycosides drugs. The glycosides have potent in curing many problems like cardiac insufficiency, coughs and circulatory problems. Glycosides acts as good sedatives and good antispasmodic properties. Saponins were found in Ligustrum sinense shows tendency for treating infections of fungal and yeast. The Ethyl acetate leaf mixed extract showed more effective of in phytochemical screening and against the tested microorganisms, Compare chloroform leaf...

Introduction: Antibiotics’ efficacy is declining over a period of time because of haphazard use in humans and animals. Empirical use of antibiotics and reduction in the new drug development strategies by pharmaceutical industry can lead to antibiotic resistance crisis in near future. Hence, identifying the common causative organism and their resistance pattern in the geographical region would be helpful in choosing appropriate antibiotics for the diseases. Methods: This retrospective study is done at GMERS Medical College and hospital, Junagadh, Gujarat, India. Bacterial isolates and antibiotic susceptibility data from May 2021 to May 2023 were studied from culture and sensitivity register maintained by the microbiology department. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results: Among 43 positive samples 62.8 % were male and 37.2 % were female. Major samples were of sputum 39.53% and urine 32.56%. Organisms identified were Klebsiella 37.2%, E. coli 30.2%, Pseudomonas 16.3%, Acinetobacter 4.65%, S. aureus 9.3% and Enterococcus 2.3%. E. coli (69 %) were resistant to ampicillin/sulbactam and co-trimoxazole. Klebsiella (75%) were resistant to tetracyclin and...

Day by day it is challenging to prepare a chemical reagent against antimicrobial resistant pathogenic for pharmaceutical and food sector. There are several types of quantum dots are invented among them Sulfur Quantum Dots (SQDs) a new type of luminescent quantum dots which is prepared from unused sublimed sulfur can be replaced for these purposes. SQDs are highly water soluble, low toxicity and have an antimicrobial and antioxidant activity. There are several uses of this quantum dots, but in this review the synthesis method and their comparison, antibacterial and antifungal activity and antioxidant activity are described from its invention to present state. SQDs with packaging film exhibited effective antimicrobial effects especially against foodborne microorganisms caused by the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). SQDs could be a potential agent for food packaging, disinfectant for fabric and increase the shelf life of...
