Aegle marmelos (L) Correa also known as Bale, belongs to family Rutaceae. The plant is used to treat several diseases like bronchitis, asthma, malarial, astringent, laxatives, digestive and febrifuge. Leaves are used as antipyretic, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antihistaminic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and hyperlipidaemic activity. The plant contains diterpenoids, triterpenoids, and phenolic compounds. The present investigation was carried out to isolate, purify, and characterize active constituents from the Aegle marmelos (L) Correa plant. Powdered material of the whole Aegle marmelos (L) Correa plant was taken to prepare extract using Soxhlet apparatus. Various phytochemical tests were performed for alkaloids, glycosides, phenolic, flavonoids, etc. TLC was done for the isolation of compounds. GC-MS, thin layer chromatography, and Nuclear magnetic resonance further characterized the isolated compounds. The anti-asthmatic was evaluated by using in-vitro models. The Petroleum ether extract of Aegle marmelos (L) Correa significantly inhibited histamine contraction and confirmed the significant anti-asthmatic...

Infectious diseases continue to be a major cause of morbidity and mortality, and the current antimicrobial resistance crisis has the potential to worsen this problem. To address this issue, new antimicrobials and strategies for fighting antimicrobial resistance are needed. In this study, we synthesized two arylflouro hydrazide derivatives by reacting various selected hydrazides (4-Fluorobenz-hydrazide) and different substituted aromatic aldehydes (3-Bromo-2-fluoro benzaldehyde and 5-Bromothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde). The compounds were characterized using IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. The synthesized derivatives were also pharmacologically evaluated using molecular modeling. The biological activity was assessed using an antimicrobial assay, which showed significant activity compared to the standard Ampicillin. Among the synthesized compounds, PD2B exhibited a higher zone of inhibition with 10 mm in E. coli and 12 mm in B. subtilis, whereas PD2F showed a zone of inhibition with 3 mm in E. coli and 8 mm in B....

AIM: This review aims to analyze the appropriateness of surgical antimicrobial prophylaxis in obstetrics and gynecology from 2015 to June 2022. Methodology: The review includes interventional, prospective and retrospective observational studies and surveys based on compliance with surgical antibiotic prophylaxis use concerning standard surgical antimicrobial prophylaxis (SAP) guidelines for gynecological and obstetrics surgeries from a web search of PubMed and Google Scholar from the year of 2015 to June 2022. Results: The review describes 33 studies focused on the appropriate usage of surgical prophylactic antibiotics. The majority of the studies revealed excessive and inappropriate use, and the compliance is far below the recommended guidelines, especially in terms of duration which is followed by the selection and time of administration of antibiotics. Conclusion: The majority of the studies analyzed in this review indicated a remarkable rate of inappropriateness, which may contribute to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which raises the risk of SSI exacerbated by resistant bacteria followed by prolonged hospitalization and increased mortality. There is evidence that pharmacist intervention promotes the...

Antibacterial activity of methanolic extracts of different parts (leaves, flowers, green pods and roots) of Moringa oleifera plant were evaluated against gram positive bacteria Bacillus subtilis (Bs), Staphylococcus aureus (Sa) and gram negative bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia (Kp), Escherichia coli (Ec), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa). The activities were performed by the agar well diffusion and cup plate method, with methanol as the negative and tetracycline as a positive control. Secondary metabolites extracted from all the parts of M. oleifera were found active against bacteria. Furthermore, the antimicrobial activity of the mentioned plant extracts was also examined against various gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains. It was observed that against K. pneumonia, leaves extracts (17.6 mm) of M. oleifera possess higher antibacterial activity as compared to others, flower extract (19.2mm) against B. subtilis, leaves extracts (22.6 mm) more effective against E. coli, pod extracts (22.5 mm) against S. aureus and leaf extract (21.9 mm) showed against P. aeruginosa as compared to others. The results reveal that M. oleifera might be a potential source...

A peptic ulcer is an excoriated area of the stomach or intestinal mucosa caused principally by the digestive action of gastric juice or small upper intestinal secretions. A peptic ulcer is a conglomerate of heterogeneous disorders that manifests as a lesion in the lining of the gastrointestinal mucosa bathed by acid and pepsin. Peptic ulcers frequently occur along the lesser curvature of the antral end of the stomach or, more rarely, in the lower end of the esophagus, where stomach juices frequently reflux. It occurs because of an imbalance between aggressive factors (gastric acid and pepsin) and defensive factors (gastric mucus, bicarbonate, prostaglandins). The white mulberry tree (M. alba L.) is a deciduous tree originating from Asia but currently cultivated in subtropical, tropical, and moderate environments. M. alba leaves contain triterpenoid and steroidal saponin (lupeol, β- Sitosterol), bioflavonoids (rutin, moracetin, quercetin-3-triglucoside and isoquercitrin), coumarins, volatile oil, alkaloids, amino acids and organic acids, rutin, quercetin. M. alba leaves have various pharmacological properties such as anti-cancer, Anti- dopaminergic, and Hepatoprotective activity....
