The study aimed at checking the effects of aqueous extracts of Vernonia amygdalina and Ocimum gratissimum on the electrolyte level of salt-loaded rats. 25 male rats weighing 160-220g were shared into 5 groups of 5 rats. Group 1 animals that were fed standard feed and water served as the control. Animals in group 2-5 which were salt-loaded orally with 2 ml of 4% sodium chloride solution for 2 weeks, were left untreated, treated with 1 ml of 300 mg/kg body weight of aqueous bitter leaf extract, 300 mg/kg body weight of aqueous extract of scent leaf and 300 mg/kg body weight of both extracts in ratio 1:1 respectively. Treatment of salt-loaded animals with the extract was done orally once daily for two weeks after which plasma electrolyte levels were determined. A major challenge in treating bacterial infections is the increasing incidence of microbial resistance to antibiotics. This poses a serious threat prompting the search for alternative strategies to treat bacterial infections. Metal nanoparticles as novel antibiotic agents hold promise because they show strong antibacterial activity against various bacterial species, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Green synthesis of nanoparticles offers minimization of wastage, reduction of derivatives, use of non-toxic solvent, auxiliaries and renewable feedstock. A single step, an eco- friendly, cost-effective method is used for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) from 1.0 mM copper sulphate solution using extract of Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi) leaves as reducing and capping agent. UV-VIS, FESEM, FTIR and XRD were used to confirm and characterize the NPs. The biosynthesized copper NPs were phased pure and well crystalline with a simple cubic structure. A bird is often subjected to dysbacteriosis with a low quality of feed. As a result, live weight gain and livability are reduced in broilers. This problem has become particularly acute now when most countries have abandoned the use of feed antibiotics. Significant assistance in this situation is provided by new regulators of intestinal biosynthesis – probiotics. In our research, we used biosporin produced by the Military and Technical Problems Centre of the Research Institute of Microbiology of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Scientific and household experience was conducted on the basis of ZAO “Ural broiler”. Three groups were formed: one control group and two experimental ones. There were 100 units in each group. This study was aimed to investigate the effects of different levels of dietary chromium picolinate (CrPic) on performance, some blood biochemical and intestinal morphology and microflora in Ross 308 broiler chicks. A total of 240 broiler chickens Ross 308 strain, from 21 to 42 days old were used in a completely randomized design. All chickens consumed a diet based on the corn-soybean meal, and the treatments were control- (thermo-neutral) and control + (heat stress) with no add-on and the others with CrPic supplementation at levels 500, 1000 and 1500 ppb respectively. The blood serum samples were subjected to biochemical analysis for blood parameters. The histomorphometric examination was performed by light microscopy. The present investigation aims to evaluate the effect of methanol extract of Spatoglossum asperum for its anti-hyperglycemic activity against diabetics induced by alloxan in Wistar albino rats. Artificially diabetes was induced in albino rats by the administration through injection of a single dose of alloxan monohydrate (10 mg/kg, I.P). The 10 mg/kg methanol residue of S. asperum was administered as a single oral dose per day to diabetes-induced rats for 28 days. The outcome of algae residue feeding was estimated by various biochemical and hematological parameters such as RBC, WBC, Hb, and platelets and lipid profile.
