A bird is often subjected to dysbacteriosis with a low quality of feed. As a result, live weight gain and livability are reduced in broilers. This problem has become particularly acute now when most countries have abandoned the use of feed antibiotics. Significant assistance in this situation is provided by new regulators of intestinal biosynthesis – probiotics. In our research, we used biosporin produced by the Military and Technical Problems Centre of the Research Institute of Microbiology of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Scientific and household experience was conducted on the basis of ZAO “Ural broiler”. Three groups were formed: one control group and two experimental ones. There were 100 units in each group. The results of scientific and household experience lead to the conclusion that biostim is more preferable with the comparative use of two liquid probiotic products from the point of view of production figures. Feeding it to a bird in accordance with the instruction allows increasing the live weight of broiler chickens by 11.5%, reducing the...

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of different levels of dietary chromium picolinate (CrPic) on performance, some blood biochemical and intestinal morphology and microflora in Ross 308 broiler chicks. A total of 240 broiler chickens Ross 308 strain, from 21 to 42 days old were used in a completely randomized design. All chickens consumed a diet based on the corn-soybean meal, and the treatments were control- (thermo-neutral) and control + (heat stress) with no add-on and the others with CrPic supplementation at levels 500, 1000 and 1500 ppb respectively. The blood serum samples were subjected to biochemical analysis for blood parameters. The histomorphometric examination was performed by light microscopy. The result showed that all the growth and feed intake and feed conversion ratio parameters were declined when the broilers fed the CrPic supplementation (P≤0.05). The serum glucose concentration decreased CrPic supplemented groups. As a result, revealed that the villus height and crypt depth in the ileum and jejunum. Ileal villus height of birds on CrPic groups was...

The present investigation aims to evaluate the effect of methanol extract of Spatoglossum asperum for its anti-hyperglycemic activity against diabetics induced by alloxan in Wistar albino rats. Artificially diabetes was induced in albino rats by the administration through injection of a single dose of alloxan monohydrate (10 mg/kg, I.P). The 10 mg/kg methanol residue of S. asperum was administered as a single oral dose per day to diabetes-induced rats for 28 days. The outcome of algae residue feeding was estimated by various biochemical and hematological parameters such as RBC, WBC, Hb, and platelets and lipid profile. After feeding of algal methanol extract of S. asperum in diabetic rats for 28 days, the blood glucose had significantly decreased, whereas the liver glycogen level had increased. Histopathological examination of the pancreas was done. The methanol residues of the Spatoglossum asperum possess very effective anti-hyperglycemic activity on the diabetic rats as compared to...

Ethanol extracts of rambutan leaves have been investigated for their anti-diabetes properties using the glucose tolerance method as well as insulin deficiency through alloxan induction. This study aimed to further evaluate these properties in obese and insulin resistant animals. The rat models were feeding with foods high in carbohydrates, fats, and propylthiouracil. The animal models were divided into seven groups: normal group, the positive control group, rambutan leaf extract at doses of 17.5, 35, and 70 mg/kg b.w., and the orlistat and metformin groups. The parameters evaluated during therapy were body weight, food index, feces index, and blood glucose levels. The rambutan leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 17.5 mg/kg b.w. resulted in a decrease in body weight by 2.44% compared to the initial body weight and could also decrease appetite with the amount of food intake equal to 10.71 g compared with the positive test group at 12.49 g. The rats administered 35 mg/kg b.w. rambutan leaf ethanol extract excreted 6.29g of feces and exhibited a decreased...

The present research work was considered to achieve preliminary phytochemical screening, acute oral toxicity, antioxidant activity, and to evaluate the antihyperlipidemic property of the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of leaves of Amaranthus tricolor. Antioxidant activities of the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of leaves of Amaranthus tricolor were investigated by Free Radical Scavenging Activity (DPPH method) and antihyperlipidemic activity by in-vivo effects on an atherogenic diet (2% cholesterol, 1% choline chloride and 2% Lard) induced rats hyperlipidemia. Our results exposed that Amaranthus tricolor showed potent antioxidant properties. In the cholesterol-induced hyperlipidemic model, groups of rats treated with extracts A. tricolor showed a significant reduction in total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) and in levels of SGOT, SGPT, ALP, LDH, and CKMB activities whereas increase in the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) compared to cholesterol-induced hyperlipidemic control group at dose-dependent manner but the effect was less than the standard drug Atorvastatin. It was observed from the histopathological findings that rats fed with A. tricolor extracts showed a decrease in granular degeneration caused...
