Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) represents the third most common cause of death in the world. It is resistant to most chemotherapeutics and associated with a poor prognosis. Unani system of medicine offers effective treatment for various chronic liver diseases. These treatments have shown reversal of inflammation and fibrosis in various clinical conditions. In the present study, we have reviewed Unani formulations to identify plant drugs that are valuable for the development of novel and effective drugs in management of HCC. Method: PubMed and Google Scholar were searched using mesh terms ‘hepatocellular carcinoma’; ‘liver diseases’ ‘name of individual Unani formulation and plant drug’. The outcome of interest included formulations used for liver diseases; phytochemical and pharmacological information of individual plant drugs. The additional information sources were the National Formulary of Unani Medicine and Unani Pharmacopoeia of India (Formulation). The outcome of interest was the composition and applications of formulations prescribed for liver diseases. Result: Total of 710 unique formulations were searched, out of which 59 formulations having hepato-protective, hepatotonic, deobstruents,...

Green synthesized gold nanoparticle is one of the most promising drug delivery approaches with biocompatibility and biodiversity. Various plant sources such as Aegle marmelos, Eugenia jambolana, Soursop, Persea Americana, Terminalia chebula, Aloe arborescens, Musa paradisiacal, Alternanthera philoxeroides, Cissus quadrangularis, Sterculia acuminate, Garciniaindica choissy, Eucalyptus globulus, Rosmarinus officinalis, Punica granatum, Pistacia atlantica, Pistacia integerrima, Juglans regia, Curcumae kwangsiensis; fungal sources as Pleurotus cornucopiae var. citrinopileatus, Cladosporium cladosporioides; other microbial sources as Magnusiomyces ingens LH-F1, Micrococcus yunnanensis, Padina tetrastromatica are used to develop biocompatible gold nanoparticle with veritable diversified particle size and applicability profile as anticancer (especially against breast cancer, liver cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer), antibacterial agent, photo luminescent, heavy metal sensor, etc. If biogenic sources are composed of a large number of hydroxyl and carboxylic acid groups, it can behave as reducing agents to develop gold nanoparticles with immense biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. This novel approach and data are very much encouraging and may be considered as one platform for searching all the important green synthesized gold nanoparticles...

Isatin, a heterocyclic moiety, is a significant scaffold in medicinal chemistry. Isatin contains a nitrogen atom at position 1 and two ketone groups at positions 2 and 3. It consists of two cyclic rings, one of which is a six-membered ring, and the other is a five-membered ring. It is a resourceful nucleus for the synthesis of several pharmacologically active molecules. Isatin itself acquires an extensive range of biological activities. Currently, the design of unique isatin derivatives as potent drugs is the key role of the researchers. The focus of this present study is to overview the recent literature published on isatin derivatives. In this review, some of the pharmacological activities of isatin derivatives such as anticancer, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, antitubercular, anti-malarial, antidiabetic, anticonvulsant, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory activities were reported. From these studies, isatin has been established as the more promising candidate for further research and investigations in many...

The essential part of robots in the medical services framework is principal to limit an individual to individual contact, defilement, and to guarantee cleaning, disinfection. Robots can be defined as an artificially intelligent physical system that is capable of interrelating with the environment. The term robot was coined from the Czech what “robota” which implies serf/worker. Robots are classified as Receptionist robots, Surgical robots, Ambulance robots, Service robots, Telemedicine robots. During this pandemic, these mechanical frameworks can diminish the danger of irresistible illness transmission among forefront medical services laborers and afterward making it a potential advance to assess, accentuate, screen and treat the patients from a safe distance, accordingly bringing down the responsibility of medical care staff. Robots are all around planned with UV light to sanitize the rooms and even themselves. In the medical care framework, teleoperated robots turn into the medical care laborers eyes, ears, body in the Isolation Ward, which might be dependable during this COVID-19 pandemic. This mechanical innovation will assume a vital part during...

Since decades, human beings have been utilizing plants to fulfill their food, medicine, and shelter needs. In the modern era plants, plant-derived products are developed as medicine and drug containing phytoconstituents by combining traditional knowledge and modern technologies. The presence of these phytoconstituents is needed to validate qualitatively and quantitatively to serve the purpose of the development of ‘phytopharmaceutical’. To achieve this, explicit plant species, the exact amount of phytoconstituents to show efficacy is required, i.e., quality control of the drug is crucial. Hence, this review focuses on different quality control attributes of herbal material and related products to develop as a ‘pharmaceutical drug’. Considering marker compounds and fingerprint analysis as the main characteristic features for maintaining the quality of herbal drugs, this review has been designed. Using these features, falsification is detected in crude drugs, extracts, and final products with the application of different spectroscopic, chromatographic techniques. Thus, this review has quoted the use of reliable, efficient analytical tools through recapitulation of different case studies of adulteration detection...
