Benzimidazole is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound containing nitrogen. This bicyclic compound is formed by the fusion of benzene with imidazole ring. It is a vital Pharmacophore and privileged structure in medicinal chemistry which exhibits various therapeutic activities like antiulcer, antihypertensive, analgesic, antiviral, antifungal, anticancer and antihistaminic. The disease conditions targeted by these activities are discussed. The present article extensively covers various procedures of synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazole and its analogs by utilizing different catalysts, solvent conditions, reactants and microwave irradiation with the aim to obtain an inexpensive, eco-friendly, less time-consuming procedure which ensures good yield and quick isolation of the pure product. Ongoing clinical trials of different benzimidazole derivatives exploring additional pharmacological activities are also...

The indigenous and traditional health care system based on the rich diversity of plants associated knowledge serves more than 70% of the Indian population. More than 7500 species of plants have been used in Indian medical traditions and over 2700 documented species of plants are used in classical medical systems of Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha. About 1800 plants are documented in various Ayurvedic tenets, about 400 in Unani and approximately 500 in the Siddha system. What is of more interest in almost every tribe or forest based community is the existence of impressive localized knowledge and practices of plant based ethno-medicine. Western Himalayas are a source of almost fifty percent of medicinal plants used in Ayurvedic, Unani and allopathic systems but there has been little concerned effort towards their indigenous cultivation. Of 2500 such plants grown in wild only 300 species are currently used by 8000 licensed drug manufacturing units. As an integral part of western Himalayas the State of Jammu and Kashmir is known for its beauty and...

Agriculture forms a vital part of India’s economy. More than 50% of India’s population is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. In India, many crops are cultivated, out of which wheat is one of the most important food grains that this country cultivates and exports. Thus it can be seen that wheat forms a major part of the Indian agricultural system and India’s economy. Hence, the maintenance of the steady production of the above-stated crop is very important. The main idea of this project is to provide a novel approach based on a deformable model is proposed to handle the segmentation of the system for detecting crop diseases. The existing system is based on the segmentation method simple linear iterative clustering to detect disease in plant leaves. It also shows visual attributes such as color, gradient, texture, and shape to describe the features of leaves. The proposed system will define the cropped image of a wheat plant through image processing and feature extraction algorithms. The RGB color space is...
