Since ancient times, herbal drugs are used in traditional system of medicine such as Siddha, Ayurvedaand Unani. The allopathic system of medicine adopted many medicinal plants to derive newer molecules for challenging diseases. The plant Indigofera aspalathoides which is well known as ‘Sivanar vembu’ is widely used for skin diseases. Phytochemical and Pharmacological researchers have screened it for its anti-cancerous and antioxidant property. This review focuses all updated information about its authentication, phytochemistry and pharmacology. The phytochemical evaluation of the plant showed phenolic compounds, tannin, alkaloides, triterpenes, flavones, saponin and steroids. This drug is widely screened for its anti-cancerous and anti-oxidant activity. Anti-microbial, hypoglycemic, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory and antiviral activity were also reported. A thailam (oil prepared by traditional extraction procedure) prepared from this plant is widely used by the Siddha practioners for various ailments. This review focuses the lot of medicinal properties of the plant through the scientific validation and strongly supports the traditional...

Here, we review the development of prospective image processing systems in molecular diagnostics and of pharmacologically active ingredients for patient-specific therapeutic approaches. These projects require not only high demands on quality, safety, and specificity but also, rapid, efficient and irreversible ligation routes during the synthesis of future pharmaceuticals. The Diels-Alder ligation reaction with inverse electron demand (DARinv) is an eligible technology not restricted to medical applications, but valuable in selective modification by functionalization of polymers, organic and inorganic surfaces and micro arrays. Additionally, the DARinv technology is considered as an attractive strategy-platform for efficient syntheses of promising pharmacologically active components and derivatives of natural molecules with an optimized therapeutic index. We like to encourage scientists working with the brilliant concept of Sharpless’s “Click chemistry”, to intensify their research with this valuable DARinv technology able to open the door for regioselective, stereospecific, and bioorthogonal exigent syntheses of substances of highest quality inconceivable so...

Herbal medicines are represented as the most potential field of alternative medicines all over the world for a number of diseases in which allopathic medicines have no or little solution. For this reason, a large proportion of the Indian population for their physical and psychological health depends largely on traditional system of medicines. Doxorubicin is an anticancer drug used in the treatment of cancer such as breast cancer is no longer use or high dose of doxorubicin causes cardiomyopathy which is rational side effect of this drug. Several attempts have seen made to control this problem, in which herbal medicines have shown some encouraging results and touted as an important adjuvant therapy. Through this paper the recent development of herbal solution to control doxorubicin induced cardiomyopathy is presented along with their future...

Pharmaceutical product and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) can be contaminated by other pharmaceutical products or APIs, by cleaning agents, by microorganisms or by other materials e.g. air borne particle, dust, lubricants, raw materials, intermediates. Mainly cleaning is performed to remove product and non-product contaminating material. Ineffective cleaning can lead to adulterated product, which may be from previous product batches, cleaning agent or other extraneous material introduced into generated by the process. In many cases, the same equipment may be used for processing different products. To avoid contamination source or facility configuration there is a need to ensure that cleaning procedure must strictly follow carefully established and validated method of...
