Carbazole comprises an important class of heterocycles. Carbazole is a tricyclic molecule having a coal tar carbon backbone. Also, it has the structural properties of numerous compounds used in electronics for manufacturing polymers or dyes and electroluminescent materials, owing to its luminous quality. It has been reported that diverse biological activities include anti-cytotoxicity, bacteria-related problems, neurological problems, etc. Some carbazole derivatives were created such carbazoles with N-substitution, benzocarbazoles, furocarbazoles, pyrrolo-carbazoles, imidazo-carbazols, etc. Researchers have gained interest in N-substitution derivatives because of their active participation in neuro-related disorders and cell...

Karkatshringi (Pistacia integerrima) is an essential Ayurvedic medicinal plant belonging to the family Anacardiaceae. The plant originated in India and grows in the ranges of the north-western Himalayas. It is distributed over China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Nepal. The flowers of this plant is small and red, fruits are shiny and brown. Galls are hollow, horn-shaped, bitter and used for medicinal purposes. Gall powder is most commonly used in diseases such as cough, diarrhoea, fever, etc. also effective against staphylococci, pseudomonas and Escherichia coli bacteria. The different parts of the plant contain amino acids, sterols, alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponin. In Pistacia integerrima, the volatile chemical constituents are extracted by hydro distillation or liquid-liquid extraction. Pistacia integerrimais associated with fungi which causes rust and blight diseases. Traditionally it is used for rheumatic pain, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. Karkatshringi is an important ingredient of Ayurvedic formulations like Chavyanprash, Dashmularista and Shringyadi Churna. Galls are used in the treatment of diarrhoea. Diabetic patients also use it. Essential oil of Pistacia integerrima was...

The heterocyclic compounds are formed by the hetero atoms (O, S, N, etc.) in the cyclic ring system. These are mainly started from 3- membered to 10- membered heterocyclic rings. The compound containing heterocyclic molecules shows potent activity in various pharmacological targets. Benzothiazole is a fusion of a benzene ring with a 5-membered thiazole ring which is widely used in heterocyclic compounds. The benzothiazole pharmacophore and its derivatives are used for the development of novel drugs and have also shown different pharmacological and biological activities such as anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-HIV, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, antitubercular, antidiabetic, antileishmanial, antihistaminic, antimalarial activities. In previous years, few new benzothiazoles have been shown with different biological responses. In such a manner, this review illuminates the benzothiazole and its substituted product that possesses distinct biological activity. This article discovered a novel benzothiazole-based drug that has shown less toxic and more active...

Phytomedicines from herbal plants are widely used as a home remedy in ancient times to maintain the normal health of human beings. As per World Health Organization (WHO) estimation, nearly 75-80% of the population in the world utilizes medicinal plants for their primary health care. Duranta erecta itself has antioxidant and anti-microbial activities and has been used in Africa and Asia to treat a wide range of diseases. Evaluation of the study is based on the phytochemical profile, anti-microbial and antioxidant activities of D. erecta to ascertain its health benefits in traditional medicine. Plant parts with antimalarial, anti-bacterial, antioxidant, anthelminthic, antifungal, antiparasitic, insecticidal, and cytotoxic activity have been reported to include leaves, fruit, stems, and flowers. Fruit, flowers, leaves, and stems were screened for the presence of phytochemicals such as iridoid glycoside, alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, terpenes, tannins and sterols, C-alkylated flavonoids beta-sitosterol, naringenin, triterpenes saponins, steroidal glycosides. Plant extracts of D. erecta leaves that have antioxidant activities show potential effects in many conditions initiated by oxidative stress. This review reveals...

Semecarpus anacardium Linn. (Family Anacardiaceae), generally known ‘Ballataka’ or’ Bhilwa’, is a factory well-known for its medicinal value in ayurvedic and siddha system of the drug; it’s also used for non-medicinal purpose like marking of cloth, hair color, etc. since ancient time. Phytochemical analyses of Semecarpus anacardium nut shows that, its nut contains a variety of biologically active composites similar as biflavonoids, phenolic composites, bhilawanols, minerals, vitamins, and amino acids, which shows colorful medicinal parcels. The oleic acid content present in the kernel indicated that it could be used as a good source of salad oil. Traditional healers and croakers use Semecarpus anacardium in their clinical practice. Several trials have proved its anti-atherogenic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-reproductive, CNS stimulant, hypoglycemic, anticarcinogenic and hair growth protagonist conditioning. An exhaustive literature survey was performed on Semecarpus anacardium Linn by using various scientific databases to validate the ethnomedical properties of the plants. The present review of literature has focused on ethnomedicinal, nutritional value, phytochemical components, and pharmacological properties of Semecarpus anacardium...
