Ethnomedicinal plant-like Gymnosporia montana belonging to the family Celastraceae is commonly known as Vikalo in Gujarat. Ethanomedicinally, fresh leaves of Vikalo are chewed in trible regions of Gujarat to cure jaundice. This study reports the isolation and antioxidant activity of non-polar terpenes extracted from the leaves of Bougainvillea glabra choicy. To characterize the phytochemical constituents of Bougainvillea glabra leaves using the GC-MS method. The 95% ethanol extract was filtered, distilled, and concentrated to obtain the solid greenish residue. The residue was further fractioned by n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone, ethanol, and methanol. The GC-MS analysis of Chloroform extract of Bougainvillea glabra leaves revealed the presence of thirteen compounds that could contribute to the medicinal quality of the plant. The first compound identified with less retention time (9.50 min) was 1-(1-methyl-decyl)-decahydro-napthalene. The isolation of organic compounds was done using column and thin layer chromatographic techniques. The aim of the present work is to formulate and characterize Econazole nitrate (EN) loaded transfersomal gel for antifungal activity. EN is a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal agent that belongs to BCS Class II. Due to poor solubility, EN is incompletely absorbed after oral administration and bioavailability vary among individuals. Topical treatment of fungal infections is usually preferred, but the barrier is to cross stratum corneum, so formulating the drug in Transfersomes (TFs) solved this problem. TFs are a highly adaptable, stress-responsive, complex aggregate, and self-regulating membrane. EN loaded transfersomes were prepared by a thin-film hydration method. The EN-loaded transfersomes were optimized by the three factors and two levels Box-Behnken design using Design-Expert software (version 12). Independent formulation variables such as concentrations of phospholipid and two edge activators were evaluated. RP-HPLC method has been developed for separation and quantification of Metoprolol succinate, Telmisartan, and Clinidipine using Phenomenex Luna C18 column (150 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 µm) as a stationary phase with security guard cartridge C18 (4 × 3 mm) and acetonitrile: methanol: phosphate buffer pH 7.5 (45:30:25) as a mobile phase by isocratic elution at the flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. The detection was carried out at 229 nm. The drugs are eluted at retention times 2.0, 2.8, and 6.8min for telmisartan, metoprolol succinate, and clinidipine, respectively. The method is linear in the range of 10-80 μg / ml, 6.25-50 μg / ml, and 2.5-20 μg / ml with regression coefficients 0.997, 0.995, and 0.999 respectively for telmisartan, metoprolol succinate, and clinidipine.
