Introduction: Drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) emerged from the time anti-tuberculosis drugs were discovered and used. It has become a formidable obstacle in the eradication of tuberculosis. India is in second position after China with tuberculosis, where about 20% of patients with DR-TB were not treated due to inappropriate coordination and diagnostic facilities. Method and Materials: A retrospective observational study aimed to assess various resistance patterns, distribution among genders, and efficacy of DR-TB regimen (2016-2019). Institutional ethical clearance with approval from the state and district TB center were obtained, and a structured data collection form was created to collect patient details registered under Ernakulam district TB unit, Kerala, India. Data obtained were statistically analyzed with Mantel-Cox test using SPSS version 25. Results and Discussion: Study shows that rifampicin resistant tuberculosis (RR-TB) is most common form of DR-TB in newly diagnosed patients. Purpose: Lifestyle modification is recommended as a primary strategy for the management of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Recently, metabolic regulations of diets containing parts of Abelmoschus esculentus (okra) were investigated using the NAFLD mouse model. Methods: Five groups of C57BL/6J mice (n = 6) were arranged. Each received a distinct diet for 12 weeks as follows: Control group (mice fed with control diet), HFD group (mice fed with high-fat diet (HFD)), POSITIVE group (mice fed with 20 mg/kg/day simvastatin-mixed HFD), HFD-OP group (mice fed with 800 mg/kg/day okra peel powder-mixed HFD), and HFD-OS group (mice fed with 400 mg/kg/day okra seed powder-mixed HFD). Feed intake and body weight were recorded daily. After killing, blood samples were collected for measuring glucose and lipids concentrations. A simple, precise, accurate, and reliable high-performance thin-layer chromatographic method has been developed and validated for the analysis of flupirtine maleate in capsule dosage form. Identification and analysis were performed on 10 cm × 10 cm layer thickness 0.2 mm, precoated silica gel G60-F254 aluminum sheet, prewashed with methanol, and dried in an oven at 50 °C for 5 min. Ethyl acetate: Chloroform (60 : 40 ) (v/v) was used as mobile phase. A calibration plot was established, showing the dependence of response (peak area) on the amount chromatographed. The validated calibration range was found to be 50-400 ng/spot and for flupirtine maleate with correlation coefficient (r2) 0.999. The average % recovery was between 99.85-100.25%. The limit of detection and limit of quantification for flupirtine maleate were found to be 7.17 and 21.7 ng/spot, respectively. Background: Aloe barbadensis (AB) is a member of the Liliaceae family, traditionally used for thousands of years in some parts of India and well known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound healing properties. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the antioxidant, anti-angiogenic and antiproliferative effect of AB methanolic root extract on A549 lung cancer cell line. Methods: The Antioxidant activity of AB methanolic root extract (ABMRE) was tested using DPPH. The antiproliferative effect against A549-lung cancer cell lines was tested following MTT assay and their anti-migratory activity was tested by performing wound healing or scratch assay. Antiangiogenic property of root extract was determined by measuring the expression of VEGF protein in lung cancer cell by immunoblot technique and in-vivo CAM assay. Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases and emerged as a major healthcare problem. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), India has a large number of people suffering from diabetes, which will increase to almost 101 million by the year 2030. The pharmacotherapies of diabetes mellitus are diversified in their mechanism of action, safety profiles and tolerability. Drug utilization studies are important for the optimization of drug therapy. The present study aimed to evaluate the drug utilization pattern of anti-diabetic drugs in a tertiary care teaching hospital. It was a cross-sectional study, enrolled 255 patient’s prescriptions.
