Pectinases are the pectinolytic enzymes that constitute an important component of the plant cell wall and of wide use with their target as pectins. Pectinases cover three different enzymes: Pectin-esterases (PE) act upon ester bonds in pectin breaking them into simpler forms, Polygalacturonases (PG) target the bonds between the galacturonosyl residues, and Pectate lyases (PL) target the alpha 1,4 glycosidic bond. These enzymes can be biosynthesized with the help of various microbes, including bacteria and fungi, using biological waste as a source of nutrients, carbon, and energy. These are commercially important because of their extensive use in the food and textile industry, clarification of beverages, maceration of plant tissue, treatment of wastewater, pulp liquefaction, textile industry and plant fiber processing, coffee, tea and oil extraction, de-gumming plant fibers, and improvement of chromaticity and stability of red wines. This review mainly aims at the pectinase’s, their types, mechanism of action, and the substrates on which they act. It also gives a broad view of the applications of these enzymes in...

The global production of solid waste and lack of its management is a concern for many global populations. Also of major concern is the production of fossil fuel-based materials and substances such as medicines. Another unease observation is the destructive action of garden snails on plant materials, of which many are found in gardens and fields of farmers. The search, however, continues for procedures that could contribute to the production of bio-based products such as bio-medicines as well as actions to limit the production of solid waste, which is a major contributor to environmental pollution. Glucose a fermentable sugar, has been identified as an important feedstock for the synthesis of many bio-products. Cellulose a glucose-based biopolymer, and structural components of paper material can be degraded into glucose by cellulase a hydrolytic enzyme system. The cellulolytic action of garden snails has been used to saccharify various waste papers at different incubation temperatures, and the optimum sugar formation from these materials and % saccharification of each paper material was determined. Optimum...

The whole plant of Hedyotis herbacea Linn. which was claimed to have wound healing activity, was evaluated for phytoconstituent ursolic acid determination. The literature review suggests that ursolic acid was scientifically validated for wound healing activity. So the research work aims to screen the various extract of H. herbacea to determine the ursolic rich fraction. So a high-performance thin-layer chromatographic method was developed for quantitative estimation of ursolic acid in H. herbacea family Rubiaceae. The separation was performed on silica gel 60 F254 HPTLC plates using toluene: ethyl acetate: formic acid (7:3:0.1) as mobile phase for elution of markers from the extract. The determination was carried out by using densitometric absorbance-reflection mode at 516 nm for ursolic acid, and also trace elements such as Magnesium, Calcium, Manganese, Potassium, Iron, and zinc which will favor the wound healing activity, were determined by High-performance liquid...

Atorvastatin calcium is a synthetic lipid-lowering agent used in hyperlipidemia. An oral dose of Atorvastatin calcium ranges from 10mg to 80mg per day. Atorvastatin calcium belongs to BC’s class II drug having low solubility and high permeability. The absolute bioavailability of Atorvastatin calcium is approximately 12%, and the systemic availability of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitory activity is approximately 30%. The low systemic availability attributed to presystemic clearance when given through oral route several approaches have been tried to improve the solubility of a drug by preparing oral formulation such as tablets, nanosuspension, nanoemulsions, and sustained release dosage forms, there was no article on nasal administration of Atorvastatin calcium. The objective of the present research study was to formulate and evaluate nasal solution containing Atorvastatin calcium 10 mg per 2 drops. As from saturation solubility studies of the drug in pure form, solid dispersions, and β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex of a drug, it was observed that the drug in a pure form showing greater solubility in propylene glycol. A nasal formulation containing...

The objective was to study the antihypertensive effects of the aqueous decoctycrude of Lippia multiflora from the region of Djidja at a dose of the plant as well as the effects of this extract on some biochemical parameters in the rat were made hypertensive by 500 mg/kg of body weight during the 14 days and were treated with losartan potassium at a dose of 100 mg/kg of body weight, of L-NAME at a dose of 40 mg/kg of body weight between 150 and 250g. Administration of L-NAME was caused a significant increase in PAS, PAD, and PAM in rats from 142.4±19.89 mmHg (J0) to 172.4±15.95 mmHg (J8) and 122.8±7.05 mmHg (J0) to 138.6±36.39 mmHg (J8), from 93.8±5.42 mmHg (J0) to 137.5±11.90 mmHg (J8) and from 92.5±4.55 mmHg (J0) to 136.75±7.68 mmHg (J8) and 109.25±15.52 mmHg (J0) to 159.75±27.80 mmHg (J8) and from 99.8±13.39 mmHg (J0) to 151.25±8.13 mmHg (J8) respectively for the positive control batch and the batch subsequently were treated with the raw extract). That of the crude...
