Curcumin is a highly potent, nontoxic, bioactive agent found in turmeric and has been known for centuries as a household remedy to many ailments. The main active ingredient of turmeric is curcumin, a polyphenol that helps prevent and control neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, metabolic, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and some cancers. The major drawbacks of curcumin are low absorption and poor bioavailability. Curcumin nanoparticles possess remarkable antibacterial, antiviral and antiprotozoan activity. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world and one of the significant public health problems. Despite the great advances in cancer therapy, cancer incidence and mortality rates remain high. This review mainly focuses on the preparation & methods of Curcumin nanoparticles and their applications. Therefore, the quest for more efficient and less toxic cancer treatment strategies is still at the forefront of current...

Background: The present study was carried to evaluate the phytochemical, antioxidant, and anti-diabetic potential of Abies pindrow leaf extracts. Methods: The extracted leaf samples of Abies pindrow in methanolic and hydroalcoholic solutions were evaluated for phytochemical and antioxidant activities. In-vitro antioxidant activity of both test samples was calculated by DPPH radical scavenging capacity, reducing power activity, total phenolic and flavonoid contents. Further the study was carried to evaluate the anti-diabetic potential of hydroalcoholic extract of Abies pindrow leaves in Alloxan-induced diabetic rats for 21 days. Various biochemical parameters and histopathological studies were also carried out. Results: The hydroalcoholic extract of Abies pindrow was found to have more antioxidant potential than the methanolic extract. Also the same extract at high dose (400mg/kg) exhibited significant anti-diabetic activity than the low dose (200mg/kg) in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. The hydroalcoholic extract also showed improvement in parameters like body weight and lipid profile as well as regeneration of β-cells of the pancreas in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Histopathological studies show reinforcement of the healing of...

Objectives: Gymnosporia montana (family Celeastraceae), important shrub which is widely reported in Gujrat, India. In this study, our major objective is to screen secondary metabolites of methanolic leaves and fruit extract and determining its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential of this shrub. Materials and Methods: Leaves and fruit extract were subjected to methanol followed by phytochemical investigations and estimating the presence of secondary metabolites and also analysing its activity for antioxidant (DPPH and hydrogen peroxide scavenging methods) and anti-inflammatory potentiality were carried out. Results: Preliminary studies related to its phytochemical screening of leaves and fruit extract of Gymnosporia montana in the form of methanol extract which revealed its existence of flavonoids, alkaloids and terpenoids. In comparison with alkaloid and terpenoid extract, there is significant enhancement in antioxidant activity of flavonoid content in case of methanolic extract in a dose-dependent manner. Thereafter, itsanti-inflammatory activity test was carried out against Typhoid vaccine (25 µg/ml, 10 µl) with these extracts (flavonoids, terpenoids and alkaloids of methanol) using variable concentration and compared with Typhoid...

Quorum sensing is a peculiar mechanism of microbial communication through the induction of various signalling autoinducer molecules having several gene expression regulatory activities of different virulence factors that control microbial. This enables a systematic path of inhibiting microbial growth and its infection production efficacy by indirectly regulating the Quorum sensing activity of the concerned pathogens. As antimicrobial resistance directly impacts the healthcare system, hence is one of the biggest threats to global health. The attenuation or inactivation of these resistant variety bacteria is the utmost call of hour. In this panorama, interference/change in the chemical signal of QS system has been developed as an efficient technique to block their expression, hence enabling them as less virulent. A literature study was performed using online research, including database searches such as PubMed, SciELO, and SCOPUS between 2000-2020. This review aims to provide a brief mechanism of inhibition of microbial resistance through QS system by different...

Introduction / Objective: In this study, we aimed to elucidate the action of ultra-diluted (potency 6CH as per homeopathic pharmacopeia) ethanolic extract of Arsenicum album (Arsenic 6CH) on cytokine gene expression changes along with alteration of hepatic histology in Gallus gallus embryo (embryonated egg) challenged with the spike protein (S protein RBD of Delta SARS-CoV-2). Methods: Allantoic fluid was collected during harvesting of the inoculated eggs after antigenic challenge. The gene expression analysis of interferons (IFN α, IFN β, IFN γ); transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF β1); interleukins (IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-1β) were studied in real-time PCR. Pre- and post-treatment sets were separately studied. Hepatic tissue of the embryos was collected for histological study. Results: The most prominent changes were found with IL-10 expression, which was significantly increased directly by Arsenic 6CH; in pre-and post-treatment experimental sets, its level was further increased, while in control sets, such changes were not delineated. Some changes were found in relation to INF β, IL-8, IL-1β, and TGF β1 in alcohol 6CH (potentized...
