Autoimmune thyroid disease triggers because of T cells attack in the immune system (in the thyroid gland). AITD mainly comprises of two types- ‘Hashimoto’s thyroiditis’ (hypothyroidism) & ‘Grave’s Disease’ (thyrotoxicosis). India has ‘42 million’ people groups experiencing thyroid disease, likewise it has perceived that in contrast with men 80% women affect more from immune system thyroid disease. The attentiveness of Autoimmune hyperthyroidism accounts from 3·0 to 7·5%, hypothyroidism accounts for 0·9%. Genetic Susceptibility, Sex Steroids, Stress, Pregnancy, Radiation Exposure, ‘Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPO), ‘Thyroglobulin Antibodies’ (TG), B & T- Cell Responses exist as prime reasons of AITD. ‘Cytokine interferon-gamma’ also show dynamic part in origin of HD disease. Radionuclide scan, physical inspection, fine needle aspiration, lymphocytic infiltrate, TPO, and TG detection (by RIA) are significant diagnosis parameters for ‘AITD’. Levothyroxin treatment intended for HT and antithyroid drugs are meant for GD. Observing of regular dosing is precarious for both therapies. The side effects of hormonal therapy could be avoided by using the herbal approach (Bacopa monnieri, Melissa officinalis, Withania...

The efficacy of aescin on the liver and cardiac markers, lipid profile, and antioxidant status in rats with myocardial infarction (MI) induced by isoproterenol (ISO) was investigated in this study. Three doses of aescin (5, 10, and 20 mg/kg of b.w) were administered to rats for the first 21 days. After the treatment period, ISO (60 mg/kg of b.w) was given subcutaneously to the rats on the 22nd and 23rd day. Cardiovascular and hepatic markers (CK, ALT, CK-MB, AST, cTnI, and cTnT) has been analyzed to investigate cardiac and liver damage. The activities of antioxidant enzymes (CAT, GST, SOD, and GPx) were decreased in both cardiac tissue and erythrocytes of ISO rats. The levels of phospholipids (PLs), total cholesterol (TC), free fatty acids (FFA), and triglycerides (TG) were increased significantly in the serum of the rats administrated with ISO. The results of the present study implies that aescin pretreatment reduces oxidative stress and exhibits cardioprotective action by scavenging the free radicals and maintaining the levels of circulatory and cardiac...

The study’s objectives were to create a pure herbal shampoo, assess its physicochemical qualities, and compare them to those of commercially available synthetic shampoos. The formulation of the herbal shampoo involved combining readily accessible at-home extracts of Reetha, Henna, Neem, Amla, almond powders, Alovera gel and tulsi lemon juice to a 10% aqueous gelatin solution. The pH was then corrected with citric acid. Nine distinct formulations were created using various amounts of each herb’s extract. To ascertain the physicochemical characteristics of both produced and marketed shampoos, a number of tests including visual inspection, pH, wetting time, percentage of solid components, foam volume and stability, surface tension, detergency, filth dispersion, etc., were carried out. By giving 20 student volunteers a blind test, the conditioning effect of the herbal shampoo formulation was also assessed. The herbal shampoo was presented simply and appealingly. After 5 minutes, it demonstrated strong detergency and cleaning, low surface tension, tiny bubble size, and good foam stability. The homemade and store-bought shampoos displayed comparable findings for the...

Polypharmacy is defined as the “prescription, administration, or use of more medications than are clinically indicated. It can lead to drug-drug interactions and result in adverse drug events. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of polypharmacy and factors that independently predict polypharmacy prescription. 200 Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients were enrolled and analyzed. The overall prevalence of polypharmacy was 51%, with the average number of drugs prescribed being 4.68 ± 3.18. The odds of polypharmacy prescription increased with the duration of T2DM, with comorbid conditions, and were higher in patients with uncontrolled glycaemic status. At the same time, the other factors, gender, smoking, and alcohol habits, did not reveal any significant association with polypharmacy prescription. Thus the most common predictors of polypharmacy prescription found were duration of T2DM, comorbid conditions, and glycaemic status of the patient. The findings of this study would be helpful in Government programs in developing, evaluating, and implementing interventions for supporting medicines optimization and deprescribing in...

The purpose of the present research was to develop a suitable, simple, precise, accurate, robust and reproducible RP-HPLC method for reliable simultaneous quantification of Hydroxychloroquine sulphate (HCQ) and Nitazoxanide (NTZ) in a synthetic mixture. The samples were assayed by the cyber lab HPLC instrument using a C18 (250mm, × 4.6mm, D., 5µm) –cyber-sil under isocratic conditions. The mobile phase consisted of Phosphate buffer (pH-3 adjusted with 1% OPA): Methanol: Acetonitrile (30:35:35 v/v/v) with a flow rate of 1.5 ml/min. The wavelength for detection was 266nm (Isoabsorptive point). The Retention time of HCQ and NTZ was 2.8 min and 9. 3min, respectively. The method was validated by determining system suitability, selectivity, sensitivity, linearity, inter-day and intra-day precision, accuracy, robustness and stability in accordance with the ICH guidelines. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range, 2-10μg/ml for HCQ and 5-25μg/ml for NTZ respectively (n=6). The developed chromatographic method proved to be simple, precise, accurate, robust, and reproducible. Moreover, the samples showed stability at room temperature over a period of...
