Some transitional metal ions complexes with 3-{[(Z)-(4-hydroxyphenyl) methylidene] amino} benzoic acid with general formula [M(L2)xH2O], [where M = Mn(II),Co(II), Ni(II),Cu(II), Zn(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II)metal ions and L=3-{[(E)-(4-fluorophenyl) methylidene] amino} benzoic acid ] have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV-Visible, ESR, X-RD and TGA/DTA. The complexes are covalent in nature with octahedral geometry. The covalency factor (β), bonding parameter were calculated. The dentistry of the complexes was in the range between 1.5 to 1.90 m/dm3 in toluene and the spectral line indicates low crystallinityof the complexes. All the complexes are non-electrolytic in nature. All the complexes are paramagnetic in nature expect Zn(II) complexes indicates slight participation of the 3d electron in bond formation. The ligand and its complexes have been screened for their antimicrobial activity with some bacteria it shows that antibacterial and antifungal activity complexes are more active towards these bacteria than Schiff...

In this present study, we investigated phytochemical constituents screening and In-vitro antioxidant activity of hydro-alcoholic (methanol 70%v/v) extracts of Soymida febrifuga bark. Soymida febrifuga is a huge tree bearing deciduous foliage and having a tough bark belonging to the family Meliaceae. Traditionally the different parts of plant such as root, leaves, bark, and flower are used for various human ailments. Thebark extracts are used in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis asthma and good for ulcers .The decoction of the bark has bitter resin used in vaginal infections, rheumatic pains , stomach pains, wounds, dental diseases, uterine bleeding and haemorrhage .The bark is also used as an acrid, refrigerant, laxative, good for sore throat, removes ‘vata’ and cures ‘tridosha’ in Ayurveda. Apart from many uses various active constituents like methyl angolensate, luteolin 7-O-glucoside, quercetin, sitosterol, myrecetin were isolated. It also possesses various pharmacological activities such as anticancer, antihelmenthic, antioxidant ant malarial and antimicrobial. In view of this the hydro alcoholic bark extract of S. febrifuga produced a dose dependent inhibition of...

A new series of thiazolo [3′,2′;1,2] pyrimido [5,4,e] pyrimidines and thiazolo [3′,2′;1,2] [1,2,4] triazolo [3”,4”-c]pyrimido [5,4-e] pyrimidines linked to 2-pyrazolin-5-one moiety were prepared by derivatization of the hydrazine functionality of the heterocyclic hydrazine with various reagents. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic techniques. The antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activities of the synthesized compounds were evaluated using agar diffusion method, carrageenan-induced paw edema, and writhing assays, respectively. The finding of the study showed that, compounds 1a, b, 3a, b, 7b and 15a, b have excellent antimicrobial potency. In the anti-inflammatory activity, compounds 2a and 2b showed remarkable activities (30% and 32%, respectively). For the analgesic activity, the same compounds 2a and 2b gave significant activities (27% and 29%,...

Probiotics are defined as “Live microorganisms” which when administered in sufficient amounts confer a health benefit to the host. They are consumed as microbial food supplements. The mechanism of action of probiotics is associated with their ability to enhance immune response, compete with pathogenic microbes for adhesion sites, to antagonize these pathogens and production of antimicrobial substances. Immunomodulatory effect of probiotics can be explained by molecular and proteomic studies. Health benefits of probiotics includes prevention and treatment of various health conditions and diseases such as gastrointestinal disorders, lactose intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, Necrotising colitis, allergies, urogenital infections, various cancers, Arthritis, AIDS, Upper respiratory infections, oral health such as prevention of dental caries, periodontal diseases and haliotis as well as many other effects which are under exploration. The result of several clinical investigations proposes that probiotics may exert beneficial effect in preventing and treating various diseases to manage human health. Though, many of this clinical research needed validation to provide results for clinical regime. This review illustrates the...

Oxadiazole is a heterocyclic compound containing an oxygen atom and two nitrogen atoms in a five membered ring. It is derived from furan by substitution of two methylene groups (=CH) with two pyridine type nitrogens (-N=). It is also termed as a lead compound for designing the potent bioactive agents. It has been reported as a surrogate of carboxylic acid and an important synthons in organic chemistry. It exists in four isomeric forms 1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1,2,4-oxadiazole, 1,2,3-oxadiazole and 1,2,5-oxadiazole. Out of all four isomers of oxadiazole, 1,3,4-Oxadiazole is found to possess variety of chemical and biological applications. 1,3,4-oxadiazole nucleus have been reported a very important nucleus in organic and medicinal chemistry and more widely studied by researchers because of its versatile chemical and biological properties. It has been found to possess antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, cytotoxicity, anticonvulsant, antitumor, tyrosinase enzyme activity, DENV2 inhibitory activity, anti-Trypanosoma cruzi, focal adhesion kinase (FAK) inhibitors, analgesic, HIV-1 integrase inhibitors, XDR and MDR tuberculosis, immunosuppressive activity. This review article describes the various biological activities associated with 1,3,4-oxadiazole ring...
