A series of Oxadiazole derivatives (4a-d) have been synthesized from (2, 4, 5-triphenyl-imidazole-1-yl)-acetic acid hydrazide under various reaction conditions. Elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral data confirmed the structure of the newly synthesized compounds. All the synthesized Oxadiazole derivatives have been investigated for their anti-fungal and antimicrobial activity showing moderate to good activity. The anti-fungal activity of the newly synthesized compounds was compared with the standard drug Voriconazole. The oxadiazole derivatives showed moderate to good ant-fungal activity. The compounds having 4-methoxy group showed good activity (81%). The Oxadiazole derivative having 4-flourophenyl group showed highest activity (82.14%). Ganoderma lucidum (Fr.) Karst., known as medicinal mushroom and it contains several bioactive phytochemicals such as polysaccharides, nucleosides, alkaloids, coumarin, ergosterols, ganoderic acids, lactones, mannitol, organic germanium, triterpenoids, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins and minerals which are well known for their pharmacological properties. In the present investigation adenine, adenosine and uracil content of the aqueous and alcoholic lyophilized extract of dried G. lucidum powder of Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) were determined by HPTLC. Further, phytochemical analysis (total polyphenols, total flavonoids, reducing power, antioxidant potentials), antioxidant and antimicrobial efficacy of both extracts against pathogenic strains like Vibrio cholerae, methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus cereus was also evaluated. The adenine, adenosine and uracil content of aqueous extract was found to be higher than the alcoholic extracts. Heterocyclic compounds containing triazole ring are important targets in synthetic and medicinal chemistry because this key moiety in responsible for numerous biological activity. An efficient method for synthesis of novel derivatives of Substituted-1,2,4-triazolo phenyl quinolone was adopted by reacting various substituted aniline and cinnamic acid. The synthesized derivatives were designed to have an electron donating and electron with drawing groups to figure out which group is influencing probable pharmacological activity. During designing of the scheme the site of action for activity i.e. disruptions of bacterial cell wall in case of bacteria and interfering with enzymes (cytochrome p450) required for cell membrane synthesis for fungal inhibition was targeted. The current study focuses on evaluating chemical composition and antimicrobial activity of seed oil of Broussonetia papyrifera; a widely used Chinese medicinal plant. The chemical constituents of the oil were evaluated by GC‑MS analysis. Antimicrobial activity and minimum inhibitory concentrations were determined by disk diffusion and agar dilution methods. The seed oil contains 46 different phytoconstituents where major compounds were hexadecanoic acid (43.6%), heptadecene‑8‑carbonic acid (17.5%) and caryophyllene (8.4%). Seed oil exhibited inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris, Bacillus cereus, and Enterobacter aerogenes, while it showed no such inhibitory effect on fungal strains. The studies revealed that majority of the compounds in oil were saturated fatty acids and their derivatives. The present study focuses on the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles by chemical method in alcohol base using three different capping agents-Thioglycerol, oleic acid and Triethanol amine (TEA). The effect of concentrations was analyzed for their effectiveness in particle growth and antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity of ZnO nanoparticles using these capping agents at different concentrations was tested against six laboratory microorganisms namely Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus, and Klebsiella by agar well diffusion method.
