Fungal exudate is the phenomenon that involves the exudation of water and metabolites produced by fungal cells, Fungal exudates are rich sources of bioactive secondary metabolites with potential applications. Exudates are a prevalent phenomenon in the fungal domain, influenced by various factors, such as the composition of the growth medium and incubation temperature. Filamentous fungi, renowned for their extensive metabolic capabilities, release exudates that act as reservoirs for a wide range of bioactive compounds. These exudates, often underexplored, contain diverse secondary metabolites and proteins with significant biological activities. From Centella asiatica, 30 fungal isolates were obtained, of which 12 were analyzed based on morphological and cultural characteristics. Among these, Talaromyces verruculosus and Penicillium chrysogenum exhibited exudate production. Wound healing remains a significant challenge in modern medicine, necessitating the exploration of innovative therapeutic strategies. Centella asiatica, a widely recognized medicinal herb, has garnered attention for its potential wound healing properties. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of a Centella asiatica transdermal patch in promoting wound healing. Centella asiatica (Linn) Urban, a herb of immense medicinal properties, has been widely used by traditional healers in the treatment of skin diseases, mental fatigue, anxiety, rheumatism, eoilepsy and leprosy. In the present investigation, the antibacterial activity of ethanol, acetone and aqueous extracts of Centella asiatica were tested in-vitro against seven bacterial species viz. Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Klebsiella sp., E. coli, Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas sp. by well diffusion method. The ethanol extract inhibited the growth of Bacillus sp. and S. aureus, maximally (14 mm each), followed by that of E. coli (12 mm) and Klebsiella sp. (11 mm). The extract unaffected the growth of Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas, and Salmonella paratyphi. The acetone extract inhibited the growth of Bacillus sp. Ulcerative colitis was defined as a common intestinal infla-mmatory disease characterized by upregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress. The leaves of Murraya koenigii and Centella asiatica had been used in traditional medicine to treat the disease. The present study aimed to perform a comparative protective efficacy evaluation between Murraya koenigii and Centella asiatica on acetic acid-induced ulcerative colitis in rats. Rats were randomly categorized into nine groups: control, acetic acid, standard drug, acetic acid + extract of Murraya koenigii (50, 100, 200 mg/kg), and acetic acid + extract of Centella asiatica (50, 100, 200 mg/kg) groups. After 5 days of feeding, colitis was induced in the experimental animal groups by transrectal administration of 1ml of 4% acetic acid. The research aim is to develop and evaluate Centella asiatica Chloroform extract and silver-coated suture against the most common organisms that cause surgical site infections (SSI) by in-vitro methods. This prospective study is to coat the Centella asiatica (CA) extract to the suture along with the silver nitrate solution. In this study, a suture filament was formulated with Poly Lactic Glycolic Acid (PLGA) (50:50 ratio). A formulated filament was coated with Centella asiatica extract, and its property was compared with the marketed future.
