Chrysanthemum morifolium is commonly known as chrysanthemum. It has been widely used in traditional medicine due to its various therapeutic effects. Past studies have shown that chrysanthemum extracts possess significant anticancer activity against breast, prostate, and colon cancer cells. The active compounds in chrysanthemum extracts such as flavonoids, sesquiterpenes, and triterpenoids have been found to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells, inhibit cell proliferation thus prevent cancer cell migration and invasion. Furthermore, chrysanthemum extracts have also been reported to enhance the efficacy of conventional chemotherapy and reduce its side effects. Isolation of plant-based pesticides gaining recent interest due to the clastogenic implications of synthetic insecticides. The polyphenolic-rich fraction from the stem bark of Streblus asper was proven as an insecticide against Dysdercus cingulatus. This study aims to evaluate the genotoxicity of polyphenolic bioinsecticide from Streblus asper (PBSA) using the mouse bone marrow micronucleus assay and compare its effect with malathion, an organophosphorus insecticide, and vepacide, a neem-based bioinsecticide. The micronucleus assay was conducted after 24 and 48 hours after the second administration of the pesticides (two doses by i.p. injection for two consecutive days). Swiss albino mice were divided into six groups, each comprising six animals. The Box jelly fish Chiropsoides buitendijki (Horst R, 1907) were collected during low tides from Edwan village, of West Coast of Mumbai. Identification was done at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Mumbai. Crude extract of Chiropsoides buitendijki (Horst R, 1907) was obtained following the 80% methanol and 1%acetic acid, absolute methanol and n-butanol (1:1), and n-butanol. The antibacterial activity was carried out on bacteria E. coli, K. pneumonia, S. aureus, S. flexneri, V. This study investigates the presence of bioactive compounds present in the tubers of Curcuma zedoaria using GC-MS analysis. Different compounds, including alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, and proteins, were identified using the preliminary phytochemical screening for aqueous, ethanol and methanol extracts. The present study reports the antimicrobial activity analysis using aqueous, ethanol and methanol extracts. The results show that the ethanol and methanol extracts showed relatively enhanced results. The extracts were subjected to GC-MS analysis, and antibacterial properties for the extracts were analyzed. Bioactive compounds such as 1,2 cyclopentanedione, 2(5H)-furanone, hexadecanoic acid, succinic acid, oleic acid, pyrrolidine etc., were identified through GC-MS. These compounds exhibited various therapeutic functions such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial activity. The antibacterial assay showed a considerable zone of inhibition for the ethanolic extracts in the case of K. pneumonia and B. subtilis.
