Bioactive compounds are secondary plant metabolites and are found in small amounts in plants, fruit, vegetables, and edible oils; they have health benefits and provide us an alternative search for drugs or medicines and followed by the minimum side effects. There are various bioactive assays for measuring the functional activities of bioactive compounds, such as phytochemical assays and anti-inflammatory assays and so on. The phytochemical research and in-vitro anti-inflammatory activity research on plants is considered an effective way to discover novel bioactive compounds with potential as drug leads. Ever since ancient times, plants have been used for treating several diseases. The present research aims to assess the anti-inflammatory impacts and the phytochemical makeup of several plant extracts. In this review, we compiled information on twelve distinct plant extracts that showed the highest levels of phytochemical activity and anti-inflammatory activity, and we offer additional research directions for these bioactive...

A simple, precise, accurate and rapid high performance thin layer chromatographic method has been developed and completely validated for the estimation of ellagic acid and ferulic acid in herbal formulation. Quantification was carried out with pre-coated silica gel aluminium plate G60F254 (10x10cm) as stationary phase, mobile phase consisting of Ethyl acetate: toluene: formic acid: methanol (3.5: 4:0.8:0.2 v/ v/ v) and scanned in Absorbance Reflectance mode at 275 nm using Camag TLC scanner 3 with WinCAT software. The Rf value of 0.31 for ellagic acid and 0.54 for ferulic acid was obtained. The proposed method has permitted the quantification of ellagic acid and ferulic acid over the linearity range of 100 to 1000 ng/spot, its percentage recovery was calculated along with intraday and inter day precision. The limit of quantification and the limit of detection were found to be 38.96ng/ spot and 12.85ng/ spot, respectively for ellagic acid and 42.28ng/spot and 27.66ng/spot, respectively for ferulic acid. The suggested method can be successfully used to estimate the drug content of many commercial...

Multiple anatomical and physiological obstacles have always made ocular drug administration difficult. Different novel drug delivery systems, including nanogels, nanoparticles, liposomes, dendrimers, implants, contact lenses, nanosuspensions, microneedles, and in situ thermosensitive gels, have been developed to get around the barriers to improve ocular Bioavailability. For the encapsulation of visitor molecules, nanogel has become a flexible drug delivery technology in this aspect. Numerous techniques for the creation of nanogels have been developed over time, such as Concomitant polymerization and crosslinking, Separate polymerization and crosslinking, Micro templating/crosslinking, etc. In this work, Ofloxacin-loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier has been prepared with the help of Design expert software (Version 7.1.5) taking amount of liquid lipid, and homogenization speed as independent variables and particle size, spreadability coefficient, % entrapment efficiency as responses. Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) was used for studying the particle size. The results confirmed the size of the NLC within the nano range (78.79- 648.4 nm). From the experiment, optimized product was found to be 78.79 nm with 66.2% drug entrapment efficiency and...

The plant Pinda concanensis belongs to family apiaceae. It was native to the Western Ghats of India, but it is now becoming rare as a result of widespread usage of the seeds for their therapeutic properties. It is an annual herb with tuberous roots, which are eaten raw by local folklore. Apiaceae is the well-known aromatic plant family having beneficial uses in home remedies, abundance of phytochemicals, used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The plant Pinda concanensis showed presence of phenolic, flavonoid, alkaloid, terpenoid and saponin content in each plant parts with different solvents of extraction. The methanolic extract of Pinda concanensis of different parts showed highest phytocompounds which are significant P<0.005.The total phenolic content was highest in dry methanolic stem while total flavonoid content in fresh stem. But total alkaloid, total terpenoid and total saponin was more in methanolic extract of dry root. This is the first report on GCMS analysis of whole plant extract of Pinda concanensis, in which twenty-two different compounds are found. The major bioactive compounds...

Decubitus ulcers continue to be a common health problem, particularly among the physically limited or bedridden. Decubitus ulcers may develop into chronic conditions for no apparent reason, persist for prolonged periods, or even last the patient’s entire life. Modern medicine mainly serves in managing ulcer wounds through superficial wound cleaning and dressing. But it takes time for healing of decubitus ulcer and sometimes it’s painful and requires antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines if the bedsore gets infected. On the other hand, homoeopathy can best treat decubitus ulcer as it’s easy to consume and does not require multiple medications at a time. Also, a single simple homoeopathic medicine is sufficient to treat decubitus ulcer effectively and safely by relieving pain and curing blister and pus in ulcer. Case summary: A necrotizing pancreatitis patient admitted in hospital ICU for two months. There was a history of necrotizing pancreatitis due to which the patient was in critical condition & he was in ICU for the last 2 months. Due to the immobilization in...
