ZnO is used as a nanofiller in various concentrations to create flexible self-standing films of PVP-PVA mix composites. This work presents the results of structural, compositional, morphological, and optical analyses carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis). The XRD data show that ZnO nanoparticles are produced in the polymeric matrix with hexagonal phase. ZnO nanofiller is dispersed throughout the polymer matrix, as seen in SEM pictures. UV-vis spectra show that the nanocomposite films’ wavelength absorption peak is between 235 and 370 nm. The blue shift may be seen with a drop in the nano filler’s...

Background: Important mistletoe species include Abrus precatorius (Linn.) and Cordia wallichi (Don). According to reports, the leaves of Abrus precatorius (L.) have neuromuscular, antiepileptic, anti-diabetic, and many other properties. Leaves are traditionally administered to cuts, swellings, and mouth ulcers as a nerve tonic. Less studies have been recorded on the species of wallichi, compared toother species of the genus. According to reports, both plants’ leaves include alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, saponins, steroids, and glycyrrhizin (Abrus). Objective: A simple, accurate and reproducible RP-HPLC method has been developed for the simultaneous quantification of Gallic acid, Quercetin and Glycyrrhizin equivalents in the methanolic extracts of Abrus precatorius (MEAP) and Cordia wallichi leaves (MECW). Material and Methods: The RP-HPLC method was carried out in reverse phase C18 column, (5 µm, 250mm x 4.6mm i.d) Dionex Ultimate 3000 liquid chromatography and detection was carried out at 254nm, using a mobile phase of Water: Acetonitrile: Methanol (pH 3.5) (15:15:70 v/v/v) with Isocratic reverse phase technique. Results: The experimental results showedthe amount of Gallic acid in...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the analgesic properties of supercritical fluid extracts of Acanthus ilicifolius leaves (SCFE-AI) and Benzoxazolinone (BOA) using the acetic acid-induced writhing method, formalin-induced paw lick assay, and carrageenan-induced muscle hyperalgesia. Results demonstrated that SCFE-AI and BOA exhibited potent dose-dependent analgesic activity in all tested models of analgesia. Administration of BOA (30 mg/kg) and SCFE-AI (200 mg/kg) at their maximum dose showed significant peripheral analgesic activity (p<0.05). Oral administration of BOA or SCFE-AI dose-dependently decreased the number of formalin-induced first-phase and second-phase paw licking times in mice. BOA inhibited cold allodynia and mechanical hyperalgesia in a dose-dependent manner, and it was even better than the standard drug. Our results justify the traditional use of A. ilicifolius in the treatment of various diseases associated with pain, such as...

We are creating composite films made of chitosan and polyvinyl alcohol that are filled with neem plant extract and NiO nanoparticles. The solution casting technique is used to produce chitosan-polyvinyl alcohol films. When chitosan was combined with polyvinyl alcohol, the water absorption of the film increased, and glutaraldehyde (0.5 ml) became used as the crosslinking agent. The compatibility of these two biopolymers was analyzed by FT-IR and XRD. The drug extract and NiO nanoparticles are characterized by UV analysis. The exact ratio of chitosan and PVA was used. Medicinal plants are widely used in everyday life for various diseases. The extraction of Azadirachta indica [neem] and NiO nanoparticles have been used as an antibacterial agent. The composite membrane was found to have the best antibacterial properties, A gelatine swelling assay was also used to evaluate swelling parameters. PVOH/CS films loaded with Neem and NiO nanoparticles were tested for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli bacteria (E. coli bacteria). These results suggest that CS/PVOH bio-composites can be used as special materials...

Achyranthes aspera Linn (Amaranthaceae), commonly known as apamarga, is a commonly available plant in India. This plant has been used in treating cuts by people living in various states in India. The Ethanolic extract of root bark of Achyranthes aspera was prepared, and its wound healing activity was evaluated. The ethanolic extract of the root bark of Achyranthes aspera (10 and 30% w/w applied locally in excised wounds) produced a dose-dependent acceleration in wound contraction and increased betadine content and tensile strength of wounds in rats. The results demonstrate wound healing activity of Ethanolic extract of the root bark of Achyranthes...
