A simple, precise, accurate, and rapid high performance thin layer chromatographic method has been developed and completely validated for the estimation of hydroxychavicol isolated from piper betel leaves powder. The isolation of hydroxychavicol was carried out using flash chromatography. Validation was carried out with pre-coated silica gel aluminum plate G 60 F254 (10 x 10 cm) as the stationary phase, mobile phase consisting of Butanol: Ethyl Acetate in the composition of 7:3 (v/v) and scanned in Absorbance Reflectance mode at 280 nm using Camag TLC scanner 3 with WinCAT software. The Rf value of 0.64 was obtained for isolated hydroxychavicol. The proposed method was validated over a linearity range of 200–800 ng/spot, and its percentage recovery was calculated along with intraday and interday precision. The limit of detection and the limit of quantification were found to be 13.890 ng/spot and 40.457 ng/spot, respectively. The suggested method can be successfully used to detect and quantify hydroxychavicol in herbal...

A sensitive, rapid, precise and accurate RP-HPLC method was developed for simultaneous estimation of Pregabalin and Duloxetine in synthetic mixture. To introduce a chromophoric group in Pregabalin structure, derivatization was carried out through benzoylation reaction. RP- HPLC method is carried out using Hypersil BDS column C18 (250 cm × 4.6 cm, 5 μm). Mobile phase used as combination of Methanol: Water (75:25 v/v) and detection was carried out at 235 nm & 224 nm respectively for Duloxetine and Pregabalin. Retention time of Duloxetine and Pregabalin were found to be 2.15 min and 5.23 min, respectively. The developed method was validated in pursuance of ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines. Linearity range of Duloxetine is 50-100 μg/mL and for Pregabalin is 100-200 μg/mL. Correlation coefficient for both drugs was 0.999 and mean recoveries for both drugs were between 99% – 100%, minimum values of %RSD indicate the accuracy of the method. The detailed quantitative results show that this method is sensitive, precise as well as cost...

A known case of a cervical polyp of a 26-year-old woman presented in the Outdoor-patient Department of Dr. D. Y. Patil Homoeopathic Medical College and Research Centre with complaints of abnormal bleeding in between periods, pain after coition, and profuse white discharge. USG reports confirmed the diagnosis of the cervical polyp. After a detailed history taking of the patient and considering a complete totality of symptoms, Natrum Muriaticum 30C, a single individualized homeopathic medicine, was prescribed to the patient, and it proved effective in the treatment of cervical polyp. The patient slowly showed improvement in physical symptoms, followed by mental symptoms. Modified Naranjo Criteria were used, and regular follow-ups were taken to assess the case. This case demonstrates the usefulness of homeopathic medicines in psychosomatic diseases wherein the psychological cause is the main cause of the disease in the patient. Also, this case shows the effectiveness of Homoeopathic remedies in the treatment of cervical polyps. It can be looked at as an alternative method of treatment with further research...

Objective: Teratogens play a crucial role in the 4-5% of infants who are born with physical or functional abnormalities in this world. Teratogens are recognized for their capacity to harm fetuses or neonates. Observations: Pregnancy-related exposure to certain substances may result in birth abnormalities or malformations of the fetus, such as behavioral or emotional problems, low IQ, physical deformities, etc. Because teratogens are more likely to cause harm between 15 to 60 days during organogenesis, major abnormalities are more prevalent in early embryos than in newborns. There are many different kinds of medications, and some of those that are often used during pregnancy can have teratogenic effects during various trimesters. Pregnancy is often separated into three trimesters. According to several studies, 70% of pregnant women consume at least two or three medications, including prescription pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medicines, throughout pregnancy or the first trimester of organogenesis. Conclusion: The current study focuses on how pregnancy and physiology during that time influences the pharmacokinetics of drugs that may reach and harm...

Guillain-Barre syndrome occurs when the body’s immune system targets a portion of the peripheral nervous system. In addition to the nerves that convey pain, temperature, and touch sensations, the condition can also impair the nerves that regulate muscular movement. This may lead to muscular weakness and/or loss of feeling in the arms and/or legs. A 12-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with chief complaints of Weakness in bilateral upper and lower limbs, trouble in swallowing, inability to hold neck, mouth frothing, fever spikes. On physical examination, the patient has experienced weakness in bilateral upper and lower limbs, bulbar weakness is present, pain experiencing in both legs, S1 and S2 sound are present, Air entry is bilaterally equal, pupils are reflected to light, tone and power of upper and lower limbs are decreased”, then treatment was initially started with immunoglobulin therapy, intravenous fluids, antibiotics, amino glycosides, glucocorticoids, anti-allergic as per physician orders. In this study, we primarily focus on professional management and summarize the clinical aspects of GBS, its...
