We are in the half past of 2022, but still, we are facing the coronavirus pandemic situation. When a patient is hospitalized, only some FDA-approved drugs were administered to cure the patient. In treating coronavirus infection, nitazoxanide, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor inhibitors, and various monoclonal antibodies are present. But all the molecules used in the treatment were not so effective in fully curing the patient. So, to break this jinx to develop of newer generation anti-SARS-CoV-2 drug molecules, computational approaches played an essential role. 2D QSAR studies related to anti-SARS-CoV-2 molecule development, some QSAR models observed with good statistical parameters such as R2: 0.748, cross-validated Q2 (LOO): 0.628, external predicted R2: 0.723 and another model suggested with R2: 0.764, Q2: 0.627 and Rm2: 0.610, Q2 (F1): 0.727, Q2 (F1): 0.652, MAE score: 0.127. We developed a new 2D QSAR model with a higher number of molecules and greater statistical parameters. A dataset of 84 anti-SARS-CoV2 molecules was obtained from literature followed by descriptor calculation PADEL software; the QSAR model was...

Barringtonia acutangula (L.) Gaertn. (Family: Lecythidaceae), is a medium-sized tree found throughout India. It has been used in folk medicine to treat tuberculosis, skin disease, inflammation, hemorrhoids and diarrhea. The present study deals with in-vitro antioxidant, antimicrobial and GC-MS study on the bark extract of B. acutangula. In order to investigate the antioxidant activity, reducing power activity was used. Antibacterial activity was evaluated by disc diffusion method. Identification of extract bioactive compounds by GC-MS revealed that alpha-Pinene oxide, 1,2-benzoldicarbonsaeure di-(hex-1-en-5-yl-ester), 3-methyl-4-heptanone, (Z)-3-hexadecene are the major components. The antioxidant activity of the bark extract increased with increasing concentration; the values are comparable with the standard antioxidant ascorbic acid. From the results of antibacterial activity, B. acutangula bark extract could inhibit gram-negative and gram-positive pathogenic bacteria. Thus, B. acutangula could be considered as an excellent broad-spectrum antibacterial...

Objective: Cancer being a global threat and deadly disease, necessitate the use of anticancer agents. Hence, continuous drug utilization evaluation studies and Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting should be carried out in the oncology departments of health care systems. The objective of the study was to identify various types of cancer, assess commonly prescribed anticancer agents using WHO prescribing indicators and report ADRs associated with the anticancer treatment. Materials and Methods: An ambispective observational study was conducted for a period of 6 months in the oncology daycare and in-patient department. All patients receiving at least a single anticancer agent of all age groups of either sex were included in the study. Data was collected in a self-designed patient profile form from the medical records department. Information on drug utilization patterns and ADRs were studied. Results: Breast cancer was the most prevalent cancer observed with more preponderance in females. Paclitaxel was the most commonly used anticancer agent, followed by carboplatin and cisplatin. Granisetron was the widely used adjuvant drug. Only...

The herbal-based formulation “Sugar Care” a product of Miracle Drinks was assessed for an anti-diabetic property on 12 diabetic patients. Each patient was prescribed 15ml of Sugar Care (S10) morning and evening after meal and 15ml of cardiovascular care (S3) in the afternoon. Morning and night doses of sugar care were given along with 15ml of Liver Care (S4) and Renal Care (S5). After 30 days of treatment, the biochemical markers related to blood sugar, like fasting blood sugar (FBS), post-prandial blood sugar (PPBS), and haemoglobin-linked sugar or HBA1C were assessed. A significant reduction of FBS i.e., 50 to 72.2%, was observed in 5/12 diabetic patients. Female patients showed a better recovery rate than male patients, who were 3/4, and 3/8 patients, who showed more than 50% reduction in FBS. A similar recovery trend was also noticed in both male and female diabetic patients that showed a substantial decline in PPBS after treatment with Sugar Care. Three female patients showed substantial change from 346.0±6.0, 420.0±3.0 and 407.3±1.53mg/dl to 158.0±2.0,...

The process of eliminating viral infection and massive control from spreading furthermore by any variants may lead to a pandemic in the near future. On the other aspect, the impact of eradicating by the initial stage to prevent, treat carcinoma to decline the affected and death rate to maximum amount by Molecular Docking. The quickest and easiest method to search out the potential drugs is by analyzing the ligand-protein interactions compared to the traditional ways. Drugs of antivirals and anti-cancer drugs are given for treating viral infections and cancers. Massive kinds of viruses affect humans with several diseases, from self-curable diseases to acute mortal diseases. In cancer, the diseases are known by the cells within humans; multiplication occurs and forming the tumors of malignant cells with the flexibility to be a pathological process. Herbal medicines are known to play enormous role by giving initial priority. Various plant species are being employed to cure or prevent viral infections and cancers. Molecular docking provides a fast understanding of the ligand’s exploration...
