Two simple and sensitive evulsions spectrophotometric methods have been described for the assay of Cycloserine either in pure form or in pharmaceutical formulations. The developed methods involve formation of coloured chloroform extractable ion – pair complexes of the drug with bromophenol blue (BPB) and bromo cresol green (BCG) in acidic medium. For two methods, the extracted complexes showed absorbance maxima at 408 and 419.5nm. Beer’s law is obeyed in the concentration ranges 2.0-20 and 2.5-25μg/mL with BPB and BCG respectively. The effects of concentration of dye, pH and interference of recipients have been studied and optimized. The limit of detection and quantification has been determined for two methods. These two are very accurate methods of physical and instrumental mode of experiments. Two methods have been validated as per the guidelines of ICH. The methods have been applied to the determination of drug in commercial tablets and results of analysis were validated statistically through recovery...

Central and eastern Brazil is home to the cactus species Cereus jamacaru, also called mandacaru or cardeiro. It frequently reaches a height of 6 metres. For animal feed, a kind without thorns is utilized. The most typical type is quite thorny; however, if the thorns are The native Brazilian cactus Cereus jamacaru D.C., also known as “mandacaru,” grows naturally in the Caatinga biome and is characterized as a source of food and medicines used to cure kidney inflammation, urinary infection, and rheumatism. However, the antioxidant activity and phenolic chemicals have not yet been assessed. The current study’s phytochemical examination of the ethanolic extract to assess the phytochemical, antioxidant, and anti-diabetic effects of C. jamacaru root extracts showed the Presence of terpenoids and flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids, coumarin and carbohydrates. This study has demonstrated that C. jamacaru root extract contains primary and secondary metabolites that can be pharmacologically useful and possess some antidiabetic and antioxidant properties. It was also discovered that C. jamacaru root ethanol extract possessed antioxidant and antidiabetic...

Introduction: Herbal drugs have great growth potential in the global market. Natural product research continues to explore traditional medicines to develop new novel drugs. The present study aimed to investigate antioxidant potential of gel formulated with Punica granatum peel extract, Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract and Citrus sinensis peel extract. Method and Materials: Different gels were formulated by varying the concentration of the extracts and evaluation was done. The formulated gel was compared for antioxidant activity with standard marketed preparation. Results: The prepared formulations showed satisfactory rheological characteristics, release behavior, appearance, pH, and spreadability. The optimized gel formulation showed excellent antioxidant activity. The IC50 value of gel was 43.74 μg/ml, and that of marketed preparation was 51.15 μg/ml, which shows good antioxidant property of gel. Conclusion: The formulated 5% gel formulation showed good antioxidant activity when compared to the marketed preparation. Thus, the present investigation revealed that the developed gel formulation has potential antioxidant...

Serotonin plays a crucial role in various cognitive and behavioral functions. The serotonin signaling is mediated by binding of serotonin to specific receptors on the cell surface. Serotonin 5-HT6 receptors turned out to be promising biological targets for the modulation of central nervous system dysfunctions. Several classes of serotonin 5-HT6 receptor ligands have been discovered. Among them, many aryl sulphonamides derivatives as 5-HT6 antagonists were reported to have better affinity towards the receptor. In the present study, a quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) study of forty derivatives of aryl sulphonamide and sulfone based 5-HT6antagonists has been made with the help of topological parameters. The descriptors that have been used are valence connectivity indices of order 0, 1 & 2 and shape indices of order 1, 2 & 3. The biological activities of compounds have been taken from the literature. The study indicates that the valence connectivity index (order-0) appears an important descriptor for the QSAR study of aryl sulphonamides which alone gives a QSAR model with reliable predictive power. The...

A peptic ulcer is an excoriated area of the stomach or intestinal mucosa caused principally by the digestive action of gastric juice or small upper intestinal secretions. A peptic ulcer is a conglomerate of heterogeneous disorders that manifests as a lesion in the lining of the gastrointestinal mucosa bathed by acid and pepsin. Peptic ulcers frequently occur along the lesser curvature of the antral end of the stomach or, more rarely, in the lower end of the esophagus, where stomach juices frequently reflux. It occurs because of an imbalance between aggressive factors (gastric acid and pepsin) and defensive factors (gastric mucus, bicarbonate, prostaglandins). The white mulberry tree (M. alba L.) is a deciduous tree originating from Asia but currently cultivated in subtropical, tropical, and moderate environments. M. alba leaves contain triterpenoid and steroidal saponin (lupeol, β- Sitosterol), bioflavonoids (rutin, moracetin, quercetin-3-triglucoside and isoquercitrin), coumarins, volatile oil, alkaloids, amino acids and organic acids, rutin, quercetin. M. alba leaves have various pharmacological properties such as anti-cancer, Anti- dopaminergic, and Hepatoprotective activity....
