Phytosomes is vesicular drug delivery system in which phytoconstituents of herb extract surround and are bound by lipid. Hexadecanoic acid is the phytoconstituents of Nigella sativa oil. Hexadecanoic acid is hydrophobic and possesses less solubility and permeability. The study aims to formulate, optimize, and evaluation of hexadecanoic acid phytosomal gel for anti-fungal activity hexadecanoic acid loaded phytosomes were prepared using Thin film hydration method and were optimized using factorial design (32) using Design-expert® software (Version 7.0.0, Stat-Ease Inc., Minneapolis, USA) different formulations were prepared. Two different independent variables were used, which include: Amount of Soya lecithin (X1), amount of cholesterol (X2) and the responses are particles size determination (Y1), and entrapment efficiency (Y2). The optimized formulation of hexadecanoic acid phytosomes was incorporated into a Carbapol 934 gel base and 1.5% of hexadecanoic acid phytosomal gel was prepared which was evaluated for drug content, pH, Spreadability, viscosity and in-vitro drug release. The prepared hexadecanoic acid phytosomes had a maximize EE% was found to be (72.23%), particle size was found to...

A facile, highly efficient, simple, and convenient method for synthesizing 2, 4, 5-trisubstituted imidazole derivatives from the condensation of various substituted benzaldehyde, benzil, and ammonium acetate by using a catalytic amount of PEG-SOCl in the presence of water at room temperature or under microwave irradiation. PEG-SOCl is an effective heterogeneous catalyst and easy to separate. We have investigated that PEG-SOCl catalytic system was excellent recycled and reused three times without any loss of catalytic activity. PEG-SOCl act as a green catalyst, low-cost, non-volatile, non-hazardous, environmental friendly catalyst, and water is a green solvent reaction carried out at room temperature or under microwave radiation method shows greater advantages because it has contributed in the green chemistry aspects. The prepared catalyst was analyzed by analytical methods such as infrared spectrum (IR), X-Ray diffraction pattern (XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), and BET surface analysis. Spectroscopic techniques identified the synthesized pure product (1j), including infra-red (IR) spectrum, 1H and 13C NMR spectrum and Mass (LC-MS)...

Rapidly Dissolving Drug Delivery Systems have become interested in the pharmaceutical industry as frameworks that provide quick onset of action with enhanced dissolution characteristics. Risperidone, a poorly water-soluble drug, is a second-generation antipsychotic of the benzisoxazole derivatives used in treating schizophrenia and other mood disorders. The present research work aimed to fabricate fast dissolving buccal film of Risperidone solid dispersion, using a quality by design (QbD) approach. Formulation with the drug: polymer ratio of 1:1 prepared by a solvent evaporation method using polyethylene glycol 400 showed the highest drug release. QbD was applied to the films prepared by the solvent casting method. Preliminary screening studies, along with initial risk assessment and the use of Box- Behnken design, allowed the selection of HPMC E5, PEG 400, and Croscarmellose sodium as critical material attributes for film formulation and as independent variables. In contrast, folding endurance, disintegration time, and tensile strength were taken as response variables. The films were evaluated based on in-vitro percent drug dissolution, disintegration time, percent elongation, tensile strength,...

Fungal infection is becoming more common all over the world. Oral therapy for fungal infections is linked with toxic effects, a long treatment period, and patient intolerance. In contrast, the link between topical therapy and superficial fungal infections is low drug solubility, skin irritability, and low permeability via the skin. Top topical therapy would aim to improve the penetration of poorly soluble drug and minimize side effects like irritation and rapid symptomatic relief from fungal diseases. In the present research, Luliconazole-loaded SLN was formulated to improve penetration via the stratum corneum and enhance therapeutic action. Solid lipid nanoparticles gel was prepared using the high shear homogenization method. The formulation contained excipients like stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, Tween 80, carbapol 934, etc. Further, formulations were subjected to tests like Entrapment efficiency, drug content, viscosity, spreadability, gel consistency, and in-vitro release. Formulations were examined to be spherical, with the greatest drug entrapment potential. Particle size, SEM, in-vivo, FT-IR and stability studies were performed on the optimized formulation. The gel showed a...

In the present study, the antioxidant and anti-microbial potential of aerial and underground parts of the Cardaria draba (L.) Desv. Different tests evaluated methanolic extracts. The phenol and flavonoid contents of the extracts were investigated by Folin Ciocalteu and AlCl3 assays. Phenolic compounds analyzed By HPLC method. DPPH Radical-Scavenging, reducing power, nitric oxide-scavenging, and Fe2+ chelating tests were used to measure antioxidant activity and evaluate anti-microbial properties MIC, MBC, and ZOI values of extracts were measured. Extracts contained significant amounts of phenols and flavonoids. In the HPLC analysis, chlorogenic and a suitable mobile phase separated coumaric acid peaks. IC50 of DPPH Radical-Scavenging Activity for the aerial part was 403 ± 2.3 µg ml-1 and for the underground part was 555 ± 3.1 µg ml-1. Extracts showed weak reducing power that significantly differed significantly with Vitamin C (p <0.01). In the case of the nitric oxide-scavenging effect, quercetin activity was much more than in both extracts. Also, extracts had a weak capacity for Fe2+ chelating activity. The MIC values for...
