A mathematical model optimizing bio-physico-chemical pre-treatment of steam exploded Piper nigrum, and Syzygium aromaticum lignocellulosic biomass waste was developed. The model was developed using, RSM, involving central composite face-centered design (CCD) with six parameters, three levels and 40 runs, at 95% confidence level. Six parameters optimized were quantity of each enzyme (a) Cellulase (ml); (b) Xylanase (ml) for enzymatic actions at 50 ºC; (c) Incubation time of 2-15 days for which substrate were dipped in various solvent systems; (d) Volume of solvent systems used; (e) Time of incubation at given steam pressure for steam explosion; and (f) Steam pressure 10-15 Psi. Cellulase and xylanase enzymes used were with activity (3.563 IU/mL), (33.32 IU/mL) respectively. ANOVA was applied for validation of the predicted model at 95% of confidence level. This study aims at investigating the use of herbal medicine (F. vogelii) as a natural antioxidant to detoxify reproductive toxicity. Twenty-five (25) female Wistar rats used in this research were divided into five groups of five (5) rats per group. Group A served as negative control and received feed and water ad libitum. It also received formal saline. B and C served as the low (100 mg/kg) and high (300 mg/kg) dose extract groups. They received lead acetate for 14 days after the extract has been administered for first 7 days. Groups D served as the positive control and received only lead acetate 14 days too while E received only the extract for 14 days. The experiment lasted for 28 days including an acclimatization period of 7 days. Diabetes is a non-communicable disease characterized by increased blood glucose. As regular monitoring of glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in diabetic individual’s blood causes psychological stress, development of a non-invasive technique to quantify glucose and HbA1c are essential. This study was carried out to compare and correlate the blood and salivary glucose and blood HbA1c levels in diabetic individuals. Results showed that mean blood and saliva glucose levels were higher in the uncontrolled diabetic group than controlled diabetic and control groups. Blood HbA1c level was also elevated in uncontrolled type-2 diabetes (T2D) group, followed by controlled diabetic and control groups. A significant difference was noticed between the blood and saliva glucose levels of control and uncontrolled T2D groups. The increasing incidence of MDR and XDR tuberculosis worldwide highlight the urgent need to search for newer anti-tuberculosis molecules. This research article presents a phytochemical study and antitubercular potential of methanol: water (MW), ethanol: water (EW) and dichloromethane: methanol (DM) of extracts of Dendrophthoe falcata (L.) and Tridax procumbens (L.) tested against of H37Rv Mycobacterium tuberculosis using microplate alamar blue assay (MABA) method. Preliminary phytochemicals studies and HPTLC fingerprint analysis revealed the presence of phytochemical like alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, a phenolic group, glycosides, terpenoids with different Rf values. Fractions of active extracts analyzed by GC-MS shows a finding of probable phytoconstituents. Findings are useful to establishing standards for identification, purity, quality of the plant.
