The Nigella sativa seeds were collected from Cuddalore and powdered thoroughly by using mortor and pestle. The Nigella sativa seeds were individually extracted with different solvents such as ethanol, methanol, acetone and water. The antibacterial activity of seed extracts were tested against the 6 ATCC pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Clostridium sporogenes, Bacillus spizizenii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using Muller Hinton agar. The ethanol extract of Nigella sativa seed showed maximum activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae (12 mm) and Bacillus spizizenii (12 mm). The methanol extract of Nigella sativa seed exhibited minimum activity against Clostridium sporogenes (8mm), Escherichia coli (8mm), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (8mm) and highest activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae (20mm). The acetone extract of Nigella sativa seed showed highest activity against Escherichia coli (20mm). The aqueous extract of Nigella sativa seed showed maximum inhibitory activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae (23mm). Among the 4 solvent extracts, water extracts of Nigella sativa seed showed maximum inhibition. The GC-MS analysis of the Nigella sativa seed extract was carried out and it...

Cigarette smoking and excessive chronic alcohol consumption are accepted risk factors for the causation of various diseases and disorders. Globally 2.5 billion alcoholics and 2.0 billion smokers exist (WHO, 2018). The comorbidity of alcohol and cigarette smoking is highly prevalent. This study is designed to investigate the influence of green tea an effective therapeutic agent to treat the damage caused by the co-use of cigarette smoking and alcohol in humans. Green tea, a water infusion prepared from the dried leaves of Camellia sinensis, is one of the most popular beverages in the world. The major tea catechins are Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), Epicatechin (EC), Epicatechin gallate (ECG), Epigallocatechin (EGC). This study had a participation of 150 healthy adult male volunteers between 35 to 65 years of age and weighing between 70 to 85 kg. In this study, EGCG catechin metabolites were detected in the plasma and urine of human volunteers after supplementation of green tea. The served green tea showed the concentrations of various catechins especially EGCG (81.24%), ECG (1.13%), EGC...

Hyperlipidemia is a systemic disease, which is characterized by elevated lipid levels in blood including total cholesterol (TC), total glyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) and so on. It is one of the major risk factors leading to fatty liver, cardiovascular diseases and atherosclerosis and become the first killer of human health. The present study involves synthesis of some novel heterocycles of benzoxazole derivatives containing Oxadiazole and amino triazole and its evaluation of in-vivo and in-silico molecular docking for determining antihyperlipidemic activity. The chemical structures of newly synthesized compounds were evaluated by spectrum of IR, 1HNMR, and LC-MS. The molecular docking studies for the synthesized compounds with PCSK9 showed energy levels ranging from -8 to -10kcal/mol. The compound VD1which shows least binding energy taken for in-vivo antihyperlipidemic activity study. The antihyperlipidemic activity was evaluated by high fat diet induced hyperlipidaemia model and the compound VD1 showed significant reduction in serum lipid parameters as that of standard drug...

Osteoarthritis in the hip creates a major cause of pain and functional limitation. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for reducing inflammation and protecting muscles and produce pain control associated with disorder. Acupuncture is a proven, comprehensive method that helps to restore normal body function. The aim of this study is to find out the effect of acupuncture for relieving chronic hip pain. Here we report a 45-year-old female presenting with swelling, redness and pain on the right hip and with left hip congenital dislocation and eventually diagnosed as right hip osteoarthritis. X-ray showed superior congenital dislocation of left hip. The patient was treated with the selected acupoints ST44, ST36, UB 32, UB 35, UB 40, GB 32, LI4, LI11, DU20, P6, UB60, UB11, and GB34 for half an hour in alternate day for one week and then 15 days once followed for 6 months. VAS was used to measure pain. After treatment, the patient showed improvement in pain and functional ability. The patient is under regular check...

Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) is an essential enzyme that affects the safety and effectiveness of a broad range of medications through its metabolism. We provide here an extensive in-silico investigation of new drug candidates that target CYP2D6. To find putative CYP2D6 inhibitors, we used virtual screening, structure-based drug design, molecular docking, and simulation approaches in the Biovia Discovery Studio 2022 framework. By maintaining ADMET and TOPKAT filters, a broad variety of small molecules were subjected to virtual screening. After that, the two chosen compounds, cmp1 and cmp13, were used in molecular docking studies against the 4WNU and 4XRZ proteins to evaluate binding affinities and interactions. For 2815 compounds, ADMET and TOPKAT profiling were done to get non-toxic molecules. The non-toxic molecules after filtrations were taken for the docking studies followed by molecular dynamic simulation of the best complex. The best two molecules after ADMET and TOPKAT profiling were taken for docking studies, where these results demonstrated several intriguing therapeutic options with high binding affinities and favorable interactions of compound cmp1...
