Objective: During the reproductive years, diabetes has been associated with menstrual abnormalities, sexual dysfunction and increases infertility rates among females. Strychnos potatorum Linn (S. P. Linn) has been recognized as antidiabetic drug as an Ayurveda medicine. This study was done to estimate whether S. P. Linn can control diabetes and prevent diabetes related complication in the reproductive system of female rats. Method: Experiments were carried out on 36 inbred female rats (150-200 gm) for studying the effect of the indigenous plant product on diabetic animal model. Six animals per cage were housed at room temperature with standard laboratory rodent pellet diet and water was allowed ad libitum. All animals were made diabetic by a single intraperitoneal Streptozotocin (STZ) injection at 40 mg/kg body weight, and then divided into six groups. A simple, precise, and rapid ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS method for determination of nitisinone in 20 µl human plasma was developed and validated. Nitisinone 6C13 was used as an internal standard (IS). Chromatographic analysis was performed on an Atlantis dC18 column (2.1 x 100 mm, 3 µm) using a mobile phase consisting of methanol and 10 mM ammonium-acetate (90:10, v;v) that was delivered at a flow rate of 0.25 ml/min. The eluents were monitored using electrospray ionization in the positive ion mode set at transition set of mass-to-charge (m/z): 330 → 217.92 and 336 → 217.91 for nitisinone and nitisinone-13C6 (internal standard, IS), respectively. The retention time of nitisinone and IS both were about 0.88 minutes, respectively. Introduction: Distal femoral fractures are among challenging orthopaedic injury constituting 0.4% of all fractures. Despite recent evaluation in operating techniques and surgical implants, debate continues around the choice of implant for various type of distal femur fractures. Method and Material: In prospective randomized study from 2020 to 2022, analysis of 40 patients was done out of which 20 cases were treated in each group with follow-up at 2,6,12,24 weeks and 6 months. Results: Clinical and radiographic evaluation according to KOOS functional score demonstrated that in RL group, 3 case were excellent, 10 cases were good, 07 cases were fair, while in LP group: 01 case was excellent, 07 cases were Good and 11 cases were fair and 01 case was poor. Over 90% of fractures under RN and LP healed within 6 months with average time being 21.15 weeks (range 12 to 28 weeks) in RN and 23.30 weeks (range 12-32 weeks) in LP group. Detailed pharmacognostic profiling of various parts has been performed except plant Pod, thus pod was selected for this study. Objective: The purpose of this work was to enrich the research on B. purpurea L. Pod in respect of pharmacognostical, physicochemical, qualitative identification of secondary metabolites by HPTLC and ethno-botanical profiling.
