The main aim of the study was to scientifically validate the free radical scavenging activity of classically prepared Rasasindura (Red sulphide of mercury). With this intention Rasasindura (Red sulphide of mercury) was subjected to the screening of free radical scavenging activity in rat’s liver homogenate with four parameters like lipid peroxidation (LPO), super oxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and reduced glutathiosone (GSH). In lipid peroxidation assay maximum decrease in concentration of MDA was seen in 1% of Rasasindura suspension in 1st, 2nd and 4th day of study. There was no significant difference when control and test sample compared with standard drug, this shows that the action of standard and test samples were same in concentration of SOD and GSH. 1% and 5% of Rasasindura has shown significant decomposition of H2O2 in 4th and 2nd day respectively when compared to standard group. There was no significant difference when control and test compared with standard drug. This shows that the action of standard and test drugs were same in decrease of...

Olmesartan medoxomil (OLM) is an angiotensin II receptor blocker antihypertensive agent. It is a highly lipophilic (log p (octanol / water) 5.55), poorly water soluble drug with absolute bioavailability of 26%.The present work aimed at formulating a solid self Nano emulsifying drug delivery system (solid-SNEDDS) for Olmesartan medoxomil with the objective of improving the aqueous solubility, dissolution and oral delivery of the drug. The solubility of OLM was determined in various vehicles like oils, surfactants and co-surfactants. Pseudoternary phase diagrams were constructed for excipients to identify the efficient self-emulsifying region and proportions of various compatible excipients for the formulation. The liquid SNEDDS was a system that consists of Olmesartan, Labrafil m1944 CS, and tween 80, polyethylene glycol 400 as a drug, oil, surfactant and co-surfactant. The optimized liquid SNEDDS was transformed into a free flowing powder by using Neusilin US2 as adsorbent. Prepared SNEDDS formulations were tested for nanoemulsifying properties and the resultant nanoemulsions were evaluated for robustness to dilution, assessment of efficiency of self emulsication, emulsification time, turbidity...

A quick one step, innovative approach for the Synthesis of 2-aminothiazole derivatives from easily available thiourea and alkyl / aryl ketones with the help of Oxone and Iodobenzene reaction system has been developed in aqueous acetonitrile solution. The developed procedure is applicable to several types of substituted 2-aminothiazole derivatives to get the corresponding products. The developed methodology offers mild reaction condition, short reaction time, and moderate to admirable yields. This is one of the most simple and environmentally benign protocols for synthesis of 2-aminothiazole derivatives. When reaction carried out in presence of oxone and Iodobenzene in aq. Acetonitrile solvent system there is formation of active Hypervalent iodine reagent in situ and that reagent is responsible for this conversion but, yield of reaction is less. We go in detailed in Hypervalent reagent study and got some literature in that researcher used catalytic KBr along with oxone and Iodobenzene and there is amplify in activity of Hypervalent iodine reagent because of catalytic amount of potassium bromide. So we decided to use...

There is unmet need in the treatment of stress induced depression on suggesting requirement of new therapeutic agent. A combination therapy of antidepressants sertraline (5 mg/kg), duloxetine (10 mg/kg) and agomelatine (8 mg/kg) are used in different combinations of doses by intra-peritoneal route. Swiss albino mice were used as an animal model for stress-induced depression; mice were divided into eight groups. Depression was induced through forced swim test, tail suspension test and sucrose preference test (chronic mild stress model). Efficacy of combination therapy was analyzed in specific regions of mice brain associated with depression (hippocampus, cerebral cortices and the whole brain) through brain monoamine estimation by HPLC (High- performance liquid chromatography) with fluorescence detector. Three drug combination [Agomelatine (2.67 mg/kg) plus duloxetine (3.33 mg/kg) plus sertraline (1.67 mg/kg)] showed antidepressant activity in in-vivo animal model testing parameters (decrease in immobility period, increase in swimming count and climbing count and increase sucrose consumption) than other treated group. In the same group, improvement in brain monoamine profile was observed illustrating antidepressant...

The crude malt obtained from the grains were hydrolyzed with cassava starch to obtain glucose syrup. 94.33% malt was produced from maize, rice had 84.46% malt, while sorghum had 84.97% malt. Glucose syrup yield was greatest using sorghum malt with percentage yield of 75.55%, 52.37% using rice malt, and while maize malt had 48.33 % syrup. Maize sample had highest malt yield but lowest glucose syrup yield showing that glucose syrup yield is in dependent on malt yield but on the quality of amylase produced during malting. Analysis on the glucose syrup obtained gave the following results: moisture content of 13.8%, 14.5%, 15.4%; ash content of 0.02%, 0.04%, 0.01%; carbohydrate 86.47%, 84.76%, 83.01%; total reducing sugar (invert sugar) 85.79%, 83.86%, 82.58%; total soluble (sugar brix) 100°Brix, 110°Brix, 105°Brix for rice, sorghum and maize samples respectively. Dextrose equivalent, viscosity, colour and taste of the end products were also analyzed. Microbial analysis was 2×101, 5×101, 3×101 cfu/mL for glucose syrup from rice, sorghum and maize samples respectively with no trace of...
